According to David Whitney, press spokesman for Erding Gladiators, the following happened after an extremely exciting U20 game between TSV Erding and EV Lindau (3-2 after penalty shoot-out): “When the sporty greeting after the game, the players provoked each other. “A supervisor for the guests then approached the Erdinger Juniors. “Our trainer then intervened.” But it wasn't a fight, “more of a scramble, a push,” said Whitney, who was not there himself, but had what happened. "The emotions are boiling, it was close, everyone is passionate about it," he asked for indulgence.
Understandable, but outside the ice rink it was still simmering. The Lindau supervisor was apparently so dissatisfied with the overall situation that the worried mother of an Erdinger player called the police. She then had to file two criminal charges, because the supervisor and trainer have now reported each other. Now it goes on under civil law.
FC Erding and Türkgücü Erding were also not happy about our call. At the A-class soccer match, not only did the players crash, spectators also stormed onto the field and punched and kicked an FCE player. This is reported by several viewers. Hunting scenes in the stadium? “It was a derby,” says Gökmen Uluhan. A 4: 4, “actually a great game”, at the end it was “a little bit heated”. Not more. Uluhan is struggling to find the right words, you don't know that at all from this active and popular sportsman. What you can hear: It hurts himself, “because FC Erding is our cooperation club, with whom we work very well. He is very important to us ”.
FC Erding only wanted to comment in a week - after the meeting that the two clubs agreed. Because something has happened after all, and a spokesman for the FCE describes it like this: Shortly before the end, a Turkgücü player was gripped by an Erdinger on a counterattack. There was a scramble between two players. The two stood chest to chest, the usual cockfights. Erdinger pushed and the TG player fell over as if he had been knocked down. "Embarrassing", the spokesman called the insert, "like in the Champions League". But then players and fans ran up to the Erdinger and hit him and - when he was on the ground - kicked. "Scratches, bruises, stud marks and a torn jersey" are proof of this.
Uluhan refers to the official report of the referee, according to which a single "elderly man" kicked the Erdinger - "and by no means one of our players". He could not confirm that the audience mentioned at the beginning would have seen it differently. And Uluhan emphasizes the reference from the referee that "especially on the part of TSV Erding in the course of the second half (was) more and more grumbling, which caused unrest (...)". Uluhan also says that after the game, an Erdinger apologized for his provocations. Everything happened right in front of the Erdinger substitute bench, which is why "the FC bank ran right in, as did our bank and players". FCE players and stewards - and now we're back to the representation of the FCE - ran across the square to protect their colleagues.
As quickly as the storm came, it was all over again - without the police.
The referee whistled again.
A long ball - and the final whistle.
Not only because of the final result, nobody left the field as the winner.
