Summary: Manchester City - Everton 0: 3 (Sport 1)
Based on reports in the Spanish media this morning (Saturday), Barcelona are on their way to their first major acquisition of the Xavi era: it appears that Manchester City and Spain winger Fran Torres is set to make his way to Catalonia.
The Mundo Deportivo reported today that Torres "died to lead Barça's attack" and reached an agreement with her, when he even asked Pep Guardiola to leave Manchester City and received from the manager the blessing of the road in case the two clubs reach an understanding.
The Blaugrana's sporting director, Matteo Alman, has flown to England to negotiate and hopes to land Torres at Camp Nou as early as next January.
Journalist Hector Gomes, who covers Valencia from which Torres moved to English champions, added that Barcelona and Manchester City are close to agreeing on a transfer for more than € 50 million, with Valencia receiving 10% of the amount.

Torres, who in the last year has become a leading player in the attacking squad of the Spanish national team, with goals in the Euros, the League of Nations and the World Cup qualifiers, feels comfortable in Manchester City but understands that he has very tough competition there for minutes, as Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahraz, Bernardo Silva , Phil Foden and Jack Grilish are also in rotation.
In Spain, they noted that Barça had already approached the player last year before signing for the Blues, and Torres, for his part, had planned all the way back to the Spanish league if he received a request from a big team.
