Referee Nestor Pitana pushes Diverson, Libertadores Cup final (Sport 1)
Palmeiras was crowned South American champion last night (Saturday) for the second time in a row after defeating Flamengo 1: 2 in the Libertadores Cup final after extra time.
The winner of the all-Brazilian final goal was Diverson, who scored five minutes into extra time, but amazingly, the winning goal is not the main reason why he will be remembered from the game.

In the final minute of extra time, when all Palmeiras wanted was to waste time, Diverson felt a touch on his back and provided a particularly absurd and theatrical dive.
In retrospect, the striker revealed that the one who hit him was none other than the final referee, Nestor Pitana.
Palmeiras, as mentioned, managed to hold on while remaining on the road to a second win at the Libertadores, but around the world did not remain indifferent to the striker's theatrical abilities.

"The fact that Pitana was not sent off after the punch to Diverson's back is a joke," the network joked, adding, "they did not even go to check on VAR."
Others grinned that "this is the biggest football moment of 2021" and that "the Oscar should go to Diverson."

By the way, a brief look at the archive shows that this is not the first case in which Diverson has reacted excessively, when in 2018 he fell after a ball was thrown at him, even though he did not hit it at all.
