FC St. Pauli has maintained the top of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga without coach Timo Schultz on the sidelines. The Kiezclub, where Schultz is in quarantine due to a corona infection, won the top game at 1. FC Nürnberg 3-2 (2-1) on Sunday afternoon thanks to a lightning start. St. Pauli is in the table with 32 points, three points ahead of Darmstadt 98, which the day before had won 2-1 at Erzgebirge Aue. Nürnberg slipped to seventh place with 24 points.
The weak home SC Paderborn lost third place with a 1: 1 (0: 1) against promoted Hansa Rostock.
The East Westphalia, where the still unvaccinated coach Lukas Kwasniok with mouth and nose protection stood on the sidelines, are 26 points behind Jahn Regensburg, who won 3-1 against Dresden on Friday.
Hamburger SV is now level on points with Paderborn, having celebrated their second victory in a row in a 3-0 (2-0) win against the bottom line FC Ingolstadt and has now been unbeaten in twelve games.
St. Pauli quickly led 2-0 in Nuremberg through goals from Guido Burgstaller (3rd) and Leart Paqarada (10th).
The connection through the violent shot by Johannes Geis (21st) countered in the second half of the substitute Adam Dzwigala (64th).
For more than the connecting goal by Manuel Schäffler (72nd) it was no longer enough for the FCN.
"It's a strange situation when the head coach isn't there, but we took it up well," said St. Pauli's captain Philipp Ziereis at Sky: "We're glad we got another away win." Schultz wasn't there the team traveled to Nuremberg and instead went into quarantine in Hamburg.
He was represented by his assistant Loic Fave.
HSV celebrated again thanks to goals from Faride Alidou (13th), Bakery Jatta (39th) and Manuel Wintzheimer (89th).
In Paderborn it looked like a victory for Rostock for a long time, which led to Simon Rhein (27th).
But Sven Michel saved the favorite one point with his 13th goal of the season (85th, hand penalty).
