Erding - The Erdinger ice hackers are not currently running.

The Gladiators lost 3: 5 (1: 3, 2: 2, 1: 2) against ESV Buchloe on Sunday evening and thus received their fourth defeat in a row.

Erdings coach Thomas Vogl is currently really not to be envied for his job.

Compared to Friday, he was able to fall back on Timo Borrmann and Philipp Spindler, but in addition to the suspended Alex Gantschnig, the sick Finn Roni Rukajärvi was missing.

And the worries of the Erdinger gang boss grew bigger and bigger, because after a good four minutes of play the Pirates from Buchloe, who have won all their away games so far this season, were already leading 2-0. Michael Petrak ran almost unhindered through the ranks of the gladiators and hung up for Simon Beslic, who easily scored 1-0 (3rd). And just 87 seconds later, Nicolas Neuber's flick flew off the blue line through friend and foe and landed in Thomas Mende's goal to make it 2-0. The guests now controlled the game, narrowed the space in front of their own goal and waited for a counterattack. So there wasn't a single chance for the gladiators until the 10th minute - and the first possibility was then promptly there: Daniel Krzizok was successful from close range. But after a catastrophic defensive error, Christian Wittmann restored the old gap (12th).

Not much changed in the second third. Buchloe looked fresher, the gladiators made some hair-raising bad passes, and keeper Mende was often criminally left alone. How well the Pirates acted was shown in the 29th minute: Krzizok had just scored the 2: 3 after a fine Busch pass, when Max Schorer scored just 26 seconds later to 4: 2, and again only 29 seconds then Wittmann increased to 5: 2 for Buchloe. But the gladiators didn't give up. After great preparatory work by Erik Modlmayr, Michael Trox shortened to 3: 5 (32nd). A little later the gladiators had a 5: 3 majority for 40 seconds, but nothing countable jumped out of it.

In the final third, Erding coach Vogl - as in the middle section - changed his storm rows again to give fresh impetus, but little changed.

But when youngster Modlmayr chased the puck to 4: 5 in the mesh, it got exciting again (54th).

The gladiators threw everything forward, took the goalkeeper off the ice and finally conceded the 4: 6 through Lukas Brückner (60th).

Against resigned Erdinger, Alexander Krafczyk even made it 7: 4 two seconds before the end.
