Eintracht Frankfurt remains unbeaten in the last competitive game of November. At home against Union Berlin, Oliver Glasner's team also clinched their third Bundesliga win in a row, despite a desperate exploitation of chances and a penalty for the guests, it was enough to make it 2-1 (1-0). Djibril Sow had brought Eintracht into the lead (22nd minute), Max Kruse equalized for Berlin (62nd). Shortly before the end, Evan N'Dicka headed the winning goal (90 + 5), it was Frankfurt's first home win in the current Bundesliga season.
Eintracht striker Rafael Borré had to cancel a first goal celebration in the sixth minute: After winning the ball, Tuta had overridden the disorganized Union defense with a through pass, but Borré started a moment too early and was thus offside. So it stayed at 0-0, but the Frankfurt team continued to work on the lead, won the important duels in midfield and created opportunities. Sow used one to score: After a half-heartedly blocked corner, the Swiss national player brought Eintracht into the front with a forceful shot from the edge of the penalty area (22nd minute).
There were several chances to extend the lead further: Daichi Kamada headed the crossbar (25th), Kristijan Jakić placed a diving header just next to the goal (29th), Borré shot over it from close range (41st).
Immediately after the kick-off for the second half, Jesper Lindstrøm was unable to push a cross from the again conspicuous Filip Kostić with his forehead towards the goal.
N'Dicka with bad luck and fool
The Frankfurt dominance now decreased - and the usury of opportunities took revenge: Evan N'Dicka met Union's top striker Taiwo Awoniyi in the penalty area on the foot, the Frankfurt protests that the ball had previously been out of touch went unheard.
Kruse confidently converted the due penalty to equalize (62nd).
In the closing stages, Frankfurt was closer to the winning goal, Union goalkeeper Andreas Luthe saved a good chance against substitute Sam Lammers (71).
In stoppage time Gonçalo Paciência shot just over the gate from close range (90 + 2).
The Portuguese had scored a very late goal in the Europa League against Antwerp, this time defender N'Dicka took over this role: The French headed a Kostić cross into the goal (90 + 5), it was the fifth goal in the Added time in the last six games.
With 20 points in sixth place in the table, the Berliners are well on their way to qualifying for the European Cup.
After a weak start to the season, Eintracht is only twelfth, but only two points behind Union.
