Professional soccer player Deyverson, 30, shot Palmeiras São Paulo to the Copa Libertadores.
The Brazilian striker, who played in Cologne for a short time in 2015, scored in the final in Montevideo against Flamengo Rio de Janeiro in the 95th minute to make it 2-1.
It was extra time, after 90 minutes it was 1-1 between the two Brazilian teams.
São Paulo successfully defended the title of the South American version of the Champions League.
Flamengo last won the Copa in 2019.
Deyverson was substituted on just five minutes before his winning goal.
He created an extraordinary scene shortly before the end: After a tussle with an opponent at the corner flag, the referee gave him a light pat on the back.
Deyverson theatrically dropped to the floor, put his arm over his face, and rolled over on the lawn.
Maybe he thought the pat had come from an opponent.
It happened in the third minute of stoppage time in extra time - one of the strangest swallows in recent football history.
In the Centenario Stadium, Palmeiras had been in the lead for a long time in regular time.
In the fifth minute, attacking midfielder Raphael Veiga put his team in front.
Gabriel Barbosa equalized for Palmeiras in the 72nd minute.
And then there was the double appearance of Deyverson.
