In game one after Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Manchester United achieved a respectable success: At Stamford Bridge, Jadon Sancho took advantage of Jorginho's mistake. Then the Chelsea professional returns the favor.

Leader Chelsea FC surprisingly dropped points in their home game against crisis-ridden Manchester United. The Red Devils showed under interim coach Michael Carrick, who stepped in after the separation from Ole Gunnar Solskjær, no increase in performance, but benefited at 1: 1 (0: 0) from an individual error by Chelsea's Jorginho. Jadon Sancho had such an easy game with the opening goal (50th minute), with a converted penalty Jorginho secured his club at least one point (69th).

Carrick caused a real surprise with his line-up: United went by storm without Cristiano Ronaldo, the superstar, who was considered negligent on the defensive, fell victim to the match schedule against the top club from London. Instead, Sancho started alongside Marcus Rashford in the storm. The defenders at United, however, were particularly busy: Chelsea were overwhelmingly superior, put the guests under pressure in their own defensive third and had several good chances to take the lead. The most spectacular was directed by David de Gea to the crossbar, Antonio Rüdiger had aimed at it from 25 meters.

At no point did United lead the way. Then it fell anyway - because Jorginho made a stick error: A high clearance hit landed at the center line of the Italian, who could not control the ball. Since the rest of the defense had rushed forward for a standard, Sancho had free rein after winning the ball and kept his nerve in front of Edouard Mendy (50th). It was the England international's first Premier League goal, who moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester in the summer.

Subsequently, Chelsea increased the number of strokes.

Timo Werner missed the goal from a promising position (58th) - the chance that Jorginho presented was even more promising: Because Aaron Wan-Bissaka had done awkwardly in the penalty area against Thiago Silva, Chelsea FC was awarded a penalty.

Jorginho converted confidently (69th).

The Londonder assault continued, but the game lacked precision.

Despite 24 to three shots it remained in a draw, Wan-Bissaka put his foot in between another Werner chance (79th), Rüdiger volleyed over the goal in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Romelu Lukaku's comeback from the 82nd minute didn't help either.

The Belgian was injured in the Champions League game against Malmö five weeks ago and was playing joker again for the first time.

In the Premier League table, Chelsea are still at the top, but pursuers Manchester City moved up to one point.
