Bruno Martini, 51, will not have been far from the handball fields for long.
The former Barjots goalkeeper and general manager of PSG handball until December 2020, was appointed, this Monday morning, president of the National Handball League (LNH).
He succeeds David Tébib who for 15 months has been acting, after the resignation of Olivier Girault, who had wished to launch into the battle for the presidency of the French federation.
Double gold medalist at the 1995 and 2001 Worlds, Martini held since January 2021 the position of general manager of the team, Team Vitality, the most important e-sport structure in France. A parenthesis that will not last long, Bruno Martini, who spent 19 years at the international level, returning to his first love.
After the end of his career in 2009, he turned to a new professional project at Paris Handball with a group of shareholders, before becoming the main architect of the club's takeover by QSI in 2012. With him, the Parisian club won seven national titles, three French Cups, three League Cups and four Champions Trophies.
It is his right arm, Thierry Omeyer, also a former goalkeeper of the France team, who succeeded him at PSG handball.
Bruno Martini was elected head of the National Handball League for a three-year term.
