The second change of coach of the Bundesliga season is fixed.
Hertha BSC dismisses coach Pal Dardai without notice - and directly introduces the successor.
Berlin - First Mark van Bommel had to take his hat off at VfL Wolfsburg, now it hits Hertha veteran Pal Dardai.
The Hungarian is not allowed to continue after a poor start to the season.
On Monday morning, the "old lady" announced Dardai's immediate release.
Managing director Fredi Bobic has already found his successor: Tayfun Korkut will initially take over the team until the end of the season.
Last season, Dardai had saved Hertha BSC from relegation.
Because the current 14th place in the table does not meet their own requirements, the club now pulled the ripcord.
Hertha BSC dismisses Pal Dardai - Tayfun Korkut takes over
“We would like to express our thanks to Pal Dardai for his work.
He took over the team in a difficult situation last season and kept it in the class under challenging circumstances, ”Bobic is quoted as saying.
For Korkut it is the first stop since he was fired from VfB Stuttgart three years ago.
“With Tayfun Korkut we would like to give the team new impulses and new input.
Tayfun has already proven in the past that he can not only stabilize a team, but also develop it with his meticulous and passionate work and his idea of football, ”said Bobic.
Hertha BSC: fans angry about change of coach
In his previous Bundesliga engagements at Hannover 96, Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart, Korkut was not very successful.
Only in the second half of the 2017/18 season did he get an average of 2.21 points for VfB.
This is probably one of the reasons why the Hertha fans are not necessarily enthusiastic about the new coach.
In addition, Dardai was the crowd favorite.
Korkut does not get a warm welcome on Instagram.
"We are officially lost," writes a fan. Others fear the worst: "Now we're relegating" and "Hey, second division, here comes Hertha" can be read.
“You systematically destroy the club,” rages another supporter.
There are only a few positive comments.
