Belgian Kevin De Bruyne has been crowned the Best Playmaker of the Year award presented by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

And according to a statement by the Federation on its official website, De Bruyne outperformed his peers with the points he achieved and led him to win the title, after clear and influential fingerprints by him with Manchester City throughout the year, to win the award for the second year in a row.

And as in 2020, De Bruyne preceded the Argentine star Lionel Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player, who won the award four times in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019 and surpassed him with a comfortable lead of 55 points and comes in the top five behind this duo, Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United player Thomas Muller of Bayern Munich and Jorginho of Chelsea.
