Edouard Mendy's rant bore fruit… Last week, the Chelsea goalkeeper got carried away on social networks after seeing Fifa's communication campaign for the The Best trophy, which will reward the best players and players of the past season on January 17th.

The former doorman of Marseille, Reims and Rennes rebelled against the fact that he was the only one among the five contenders for the title not to wear the official tunic of his national team, in this case Senegal.
The photomontage chosen by the international body thus showed him with an orange jersey without any particular sign.
“Two days of looking at this post and trying to figure out why but still haven't got it.
Is it normal that I am the only one without the jersey of my country, Senegal?
Is it fair for Senegal?
», He explained, implying that his skin color and / or that his origins could explain this campaign which also relegated him to the bottom of the image behind his competitors, the Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, the German Manuel Neuer, the Brazilian Alisson Becker and the Danish Kasper Schmeichel.
Mendy's position has earned him a lot of support ... and a flip-flop from Fifa.
This Monday, the international federation published a new visual where the last bulwark of the Blues is dressed in the Senegalese jersey and put a little more value in the background alongside Neuer, behind Donnarumma.
So clumsy… 😔 @FIFAcom @fifacom_fr without his @ChelseaFC jersey and deep down.

"Mendy's contribution to Chelsea's victory in the Champions League last season was such that he was named goalkeeper of the season in the competition," recalls the FIFA website.
He also played an essential role in the qualification of Senegal for the last round of the African qualifiers at the 2022 World Cup. "
Mendy is also nominated for the Yachine Trophy, which will be awarded this Monday evening during the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
The Senegalese competes with Thibaut Courtois, Ederson, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Samir Handanovic, Emiliano Martinez, Keylor Navas, Manuel Neuer, Jan Oblak, and Kasper Schmeichel.
