The two rivals of Red Bull and Mercedes will meet in Jeddah (6.30 p.m.) on Sunday for the first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in history.

This is the penultimate meeting of 2021 before the final grand prix in Abu Dhabi (December 12).

While all observers expect the duel to continue all the way to Yas Marina for an explosive final, Verstappen can be crowned world champion on Sunday if the result is favorable.

Here are the different scenarios that would allow the Dutchman to win his first world championship title:

-Max Verstappen wins and takes the point of the best lap, Lewis Hamilton finishes 6th or later. *

-Max Verstappen wins without the best lap point, Lewis Hamilton finishes 7th with the best lap point or further.

-Max Verstappen finished 2nd and won the point for the best lap, Lewis Hamilton finished 10th or later.

-Max Verstappen finished 2nd without the best lap point and Lewis Hamilton did not finish in the points.

* Hamilton could come back to equality in case of success in Abu Dhabi but he would lose in the number of victories (10 to 8)
