Not HSV, not Werder, not Schalke 04: It is FC St. Pauli that will lead the second division table after the first half of the season. Ex-Schalke Guido Burgstaller met twice against the Royal Blues.

FC St. Pauli has secured the autumn championship in the 2nd Bundesliga ahead of schedule. The leader of the table won 2-1 (2-0) against FC Schalke 04 in front of 19,950 spectators at Millerntor on Saturday. Ex-Schalke Guido Burgstaller (20th minute / 39th) scored the hosts' goals in their eighth win in their eighth home game, who topped the top scorer list with goals number 13 and 14 of the season. For the guests, the former Hamburger Rodrigo Zalazar (75th) was successful.

A cross from Igor Matanovic completed Burgstaller well worth seeing.

The Austrian managed the second stroke after a cross from Leart Paqarada with his head.

Schalke drew hope after Zalazar's header.

The alleged equalization by Thomas Ouwejan (84th) was not recognized by Marvin Pieringer's previous offside position.

Both teams lacked the head coach, who had suffered from Corona.

Loic Favé was in charge of St. Paulis Timo Schultz, while Sven Piepenbrock was in charge of Schalke's Dimitrios Grammozis.

After the failures of top strikers Simon Terodde and Marius Bülter, 30-year-old Azerbaijani Rufat Dadaschow from the Royal Blues Regional League team and 17-year-old Keke Topp from the U19 celebrated their second division premieres among the guests.
