Syrian judoka Hasan Bayan won today the bronze medal in the weight of under 73 kg in the Asian Championships for juniors, juniors, youth and girls, which is currently being held in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, with the participation of 17 countries.
The bronze medal came after 4 matches played by Bayan in the youth category. He lost the first to a player from Tajikistan, and won the second against a player from Kazakhstan, the third against a player from India, and the fourth against a player from Kyrgyzstan.
The player Majd Haj Kaddour ranked fifth in the weight of under 81 kg in the junior category, and the player Sama Kanaan ranked fifth in the weight of under 57 kg in the category of young women.
Laila Kanaan won a bronze medal in the women's under 48 kg category on the first day of the tournament.
A member of the Game Federation, Anas Al-Rasheed, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the level of the technical championship is very high, indicating that achieving two bronze medals in this championship, which enjoys wide participation, is an achievement for Syrian sports, knowing that two participations for the two players will remain tomorrow in the youth category, and we hope to achieve additional medals.
It is noteworthy that the weights approved in the category under 21 years old are 7 weights for males and the same for females, while in the category under 18 years old, the competitions will include 8 weights for males and 8 weights for females.
