Two goalkeeping mistakes let Chelsea stumble against West Ham to the second defeat of the season. Liverpool FC were close to 0-0 in Wolverhampton after a strange miss - then Divock Origi came along.

In the Premier League, Chelsea suffered their second defeat of the season in the London derby at West Ham United. Against the surprise club of the season, which consolidated their fourth place in the table, an avoidable penalty and a goal from a crazy position cost the Blues a better result. At Liverpool FC, Diogo Jota seemed to be a tragic figure against his ex-club Wolverhampton Wanderers before a late goal let Jürgen Klopp's team climb into the table.

West Ham United remain the favorite scare in the Premier League. Head coach David Moyes' team, who defeated Liverpool FC four weeks ago, also prevailed against Chelsea FC in the home game - as they did then with a 3-2 (1-2) win. Thiago Silva initially put the Blues in the lead with a placed header (28th). Then the otherwise often outstanding Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy showed for the first time that he had not had his best day: Under pressure from the West Ham offensive, Mendy first twisted himself and then moved Jared Bowen. Manuel Lanzini equalized with a penalty kick (40th).

A remarkable direct acceptance by Mason Mount ensured that Thomas Tuchel's leaders went into the break with a lead (44th). But then the hosts turned the game around: First Bowen scored (56th), then Mendy didn't look good again when Arthur Masuaku hit the short from a flanking position (87th). In the second half, Kai Havertz was no longer on the pitch, the German international had injured himself in a duel with his former teammate Kurt Zouma shortly before the break.

Liverpool FC passed a last minute test of patience against Wolverhampton Wanderers. In a game in which the Reds had more than 66 percent possession and 17 to three shots on goal, Joker Origi made the difference in the fourth minute of stoppage time: The Belgian processed a cross from Mohamed Salah at the five-meter space and completed the turn towards the gate of the day.

Liverpool had already approached this several times before. In particular, the former Wolves striker Diogo Jota missed the best chances: A header placed next to the goal was still within the normal range (32nd). But when Jota, after an unfortunate excursion by Wolves goalkeeper José Sa, approached the opposing goal alone and did not insert the ball from five meters to lead, but shot defender Connor Coady on the line with a force shot (60th), the Reds seemed to give away the victory in the most curious way.

The fact that things turned out differently thanks to Origi has consequences for the Premier League table: With their fourth win in a row, Liverpool pushed past Chelsea, who went into the matchday as leaders.

Both teams can still be overtaken by Manchester City, however, Pep Guardiola's team can jump from third place to the top with a win at Watford FC (6.30 p.m., TV: Sky, live ticker: SPIEGEL.de).
