Saudi Arabia's Grand Prix provided tremendous drama tonight (Sunday), when at the end of a race saturated with accidents and lead exchanges, Lewis Hamilton achieved the victory in Jeddah and compared his points balance to that of Max Verstappen who finished second.
The world champion received 25 points for the victory and another bonus point for the fastest lap, with his opponent settling for 18 of second place and thus both 369.5 points together at the top before the last race.

The new track in Jeddah is the fastest in the round and Mick Schumacher, the son of the legendary Michael, collided with the Ace team car in the safety fences in the 10th lap and led to the first red flag in the race. This stop played into the hands of Verstappen, who jumped only third but did not enter the stop in favor of changing wheels, unlike Hamilton who jumped first and was called by the Mercedes team to enter Pete. This advantage disappeared after another accident involving three drivers, but then Verstappen returned to the lead and Hamilton was required to overtake Esteban Okon to blow in the back of his opponent's back.
The race was halted for the third time in the 30th lap, following a collision between veteran Kimi Raikkonen and his former partner Sebastian Petel. In the 38th lap, with Verstappen leading and Hamilton overtaking him, the Dutchman made an illegal block and there was contact between the cars. It went up to Wurstafen with a five-second penalty and so Hamilton moved to the lead position and maintained his advantage until the end. He also scored a bonus point on the fastest lap and now complete equality between drivers.
