»You give a referee who has postponed games the biggest game in Germany.

What do you expect? «: These words, which Jude Bellingham chose after the 2: 3 defeat of his Dortmund against Bayern Munich in an interview with the Norwegian broadcaster Viaplay, hit the mark.

What was meant was Felix Zwayer and his controversial performance as referee of the top game on Saturday evening.

These allusions to the referee scandal surrounding Robert Hoyzer in the Bundesliga 16 years earlier could now have consequences: The control committee of the German Football Association is investigating the 18-year-old.

"The control committee will examine the statement of the Dortmund player Jude Bellingham for its relevance to sports criminal law," said Anton Nachreiner, the chairman of the committee, of the German press agency.

According to "Sportbild", referee observer Marco Haase is even said to have filed criminal charges against Bellingham and referee Manuel Graefe.

Punishments are insult, gossip and defamation.

Accordingly, the Dortmund star without the former Bundesliga referee Gräfe, who commented on the scene on Saturday evening in Dortmund for ZDF, "could not have made this statement from life experience."

Zwayer had not decided on a penalty for Dortmund in a bump against Marco Reus in the penalty area without looking at the scene again.

Zwayer later gave Bayern a penalty after video evidence after Mats Hummels cleared the ball with his arm, Robert Lewandowski converted to Munich's winning goal.

His penalty decision after the handball by Hummels and called Zwayer "undisputed".

Hummels had cleared the ball "clearly with the elbow, that is to be assessed as a penalty," he said on Sky.

Insult, defamation and defamation

Bellingham was not alone in his criticism.

Team colleague Erling Haaland, for example, spoke of a "major scandal".

BVB coach Marco Rose chose cynicism as the answer.

“Mr Zwayer can whistle to BVB a few more times, we are here and are preparing for everything that is to come.

He's welcome to throw a few more sticks and stones in our way, ”he said.

But Graefe criticized his ex-colleague particularly clearly.

"The decisions were made to the detriment of BVB and were unfortunately decisive for the game," said Gräfe

on Saturday evening in the ZDF "Sportstudio".

In Zwayer's line, the balance was not right.

"It is part of such a top game that a top referee has a feeling for it and works it off properly." Gräfe saw arguments for both sides in the decision against Hummels.

"You can't always figure out the arguments against a penalty and then take the arguments for a penalty."

Graefe had criticized Zwayer for his involvement in the 2005 uncovered betting scandal surrounding ex-referee Robert Hoyzer.

"Anyone who has accepted money once and has kept Hoyzer's manipulation secret for six months shouldn't whistle for professional football," Graefe said months ago in the "Zeit Magazin".
