1860 Munich suspended Sascha Mölders on Monday.
As the third division soccer team announced, the striker will "not be in the squad until further notice."
After an "ongoing analysis of the development of the past few weeks", the sports management headed by coach Michael Köllner decided.
Mölders wrote on Instagram that he was "shocked": "Today I was at the training area and was told that I should no longer appear for training or that I should train individually because the trainer wanted me to."
As the Münchner Abendzeitung reports, Mölders is said to have clashed several times with other players and club officials.
The Münchner Merkur writes that Mölders had "been attracting negative attention again and again for some time".
The club initially did not comment on the reasons for the suspension.
Opened own fan shop
Mölders has been playing for 1860 since 2016, the contract of the former Bundesliga player (103 games, 18 goals) runs until 2022. Mölders achieved cult status above all as "Die Wampe von Giesing". The name alludes to the now clearly recognizable belly of the 36-year-old attacker. A picture of Mölders attempting an overhead kick in a game with his jersey slipping over his stomach went viral in May. Mölders even opened his own fan shop and sells t-shirts, hoodies and mugs with the slogan and drawings of the bicycle kick. Mölders has also been an expert at the streaming broadcaster DAZN since May.
Last season, when 1860 just missed promotion to the second division, Mölders scored 22 goals and was top scorer.
In the 18 league games this season he has scored five goals so far.
The last time there had been two league bankruptcies in a row in 1860.
