The Rangers club said they were
"puzzled and frustrated"
by the French Interior Ministry's decision to ban its supporters from traveling for the Europa League match in Lyon on Thursday.
In a statement, the Rangers say they were informed of this decision Monday afternoon by the French authorities.

"We understand that the 'Festival of Lights' being held in the city will put the police and infrastructure to the test,"
said the Scottish champions.
“At the end of last week, (the authorities) gave their agreement for the arrival of 2,200 supporters. Reversing this decision is confusing and extremely frustrating, given the short delay, ”
regretted the Scottish club.
"It is incredible that three days after this decision and three days before the game, it is our supporters who are now going to be left out,"
added the Rangers.
Lyon and the Rangers are already guaranteed to participate in the round of 16 of the competition.
