The German handball players also won their fourth game at the World Cup in Spain and have come one step closer to the quarter-finals.
The DHB team of national coach Henk Groener defeated the Republic of the Congo in the main round start with a sovereign 29:18 (15: 7) and further expanded its flawless tournament record.
Emily Bölk and Co. dominated the outsider in front of around 550 spectators in Granollers with a concentrated performance from the start.
Johanna Stockschläder with six and captain Alina Grijseels and Amelie Berger with five hits each were the best German throwers.
The game started bumpy at first.
It took three minutes and 45 seconds before the first goal of the game fell.
Then, despite some changes in the starting lineup, the German women quickly moved away to 10: 3.
In the second section it took a while for the German team to pick up their rhythm again.
After the Congolese, who are back at a World Cup for the first time since 2009, shortened their deficit a little (16: 10/35), Germany picked up the pace again.
The game was decided by Amelie Berger's goal at 20:11 at the latest.
“Overall, we are not satisfied with our performance.
We wanted to be much more focused and consistent.
Ultimately, however, the two points count, ”said goalkeeper Dinah Eckerle.
"Now the full focus is on the duel with South Korea."
With another win on Friday (3:30 p.m.) against the Asian champions, the German team may already qualify for the early quarter-finals.
