After the vaccination pass affair involving the former Bremen football coach Markus Anfang, professional football is threatened with another case of forging a vaccination document.

As the Mönchengladbach police confirmed to the German Press Agency, an official investigation was initiated against an employee from the Borussia Mönchengladbach area.

"Sport Bild" had previously reported that the club had separated from a physiotherapist.

Borussia only confirmed that they had separated from an employee without giving any reasons.

The newspaper reported that the now former Borussia employee is suspected of having a forged vaccination card.

According to the police, investigations are underway for forgery of documents, but these investigations are still at the beginning.

The police did not take action because a complaint had previously been received, but because of media coverage.

This could mean that Borussia had previously become aware of the possible discrepancies among its employees and drew the necessary conclusions from them.

The Mönchengladbach Labor Court stated in response to a dpa request that the proceedings were not pending in-house.

More than two weeks ago, the head coach at the beginning of the second division Werder Bremen resigned because the public prosecutor's office had started investigations into the suspicion of a forged vaccination certificate.
