Women's Champions League: PSG on display in Kharkiv (6-0)

2021-12-08T20:23:31.004Z

Despite a very rejuvenated group, the women's section of PSG has demonstrated its superiority against Ukrainian women who are totally overwhelmed this month.

Fifth match in the Women's Champions League and fifth victory for PSG in this group stage, all without conceding a single goal.

The Parisiennes won this Wednesday evening in Kharkiv (6-0) in eastern Ukraine despite the absence of many executives left to rest in Paris.

Already assured of first place and the quarter-finals, PSG was able to demonstrate its depth of bench and allow its youngest players to discover the competition.

What you must remember

There was therefore this hitch against Lyon (6-1 defeat) in the league, a few days after the storm caused by the case of the aggression of Kheira Hamraoui. But since then, PSG has resumed its forward march, in France as in Europe, and continues to string together successes. The Ukrainians of Kharkiv, already swept 5-0 in Paris during the second day of the group stage, suffered the power of the Parisians this Wednesday evening on their lawn.

The players of Didier Ollé-Nicolle, who had voluntarily rejuvenated his group in order to involve the greatest number, made the difference from the quarter of an hour of play thanks to a header from Jordyn Huitema (15th), who had already registered a hat-trick in the first leg. The 20-year-old Canadian followed up with an assist for Ramona Bachmann (21st). Before three new goals in the first period signed Sandy Baltimore (37th), Bachmann (40th) and Laurina Fazer (44th). On the return from the break, the Swedish Amanda Ilestedt scored the 6th and last goal of the Parisian evening, with a header (54th).

This large result allowed Didier Ollé-Nicolle to launch two new ones on the European scene: the 18-year-old midfielder Magnaba Folquet and the 17-year-old striker Baby-Jordy Benera.

The only frustration of the evening came from the exclusion of Estelle Cascarino for two boxes received in 12 minutes (68th, 80th).

The player: Ramona Bachmann

At the heart of a rejuvenated team, the Swiss was a former 30-year-old. And she responded to help her team win with a brace and an assist in their 74th career European game. All in twenty minutes in the first period. Bachmann is first at the reception of a good cross from Huitema (21st) for the 2-0. After a bad clearance from the Kharkiv defense, she can then roll up her ball for the 4-0 (40th). Between the two, the attacker had found Baltimore in depth with a subtle outside of the foot (37th) for the 3-0. Bachmann, after this great performance, was replaced before the hour mark by the young Hawa Sangaré (58th).

The number: 25

She was at 25m when she unleashed a powerful strike in the direction of the skylight.

Laurina Fazer, only 18, for her first start in the Champions League, scored the best goal of the evening in Ukraine.

His first in official competition with his training club.

The Marco Verratti-style pocket midfielder is one of the club's biggest prospects.

This meeting should remain in his memories for a long time.
