It was not the Saturday of the super striker: Robert Lewandowski remained goalless in Munich's narrow win against Mainz, as did Erling Haaland in BVB's draw in Bochum. And then there was Leipzig's André Silva.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich experienced the tough sides of everyday life in the Bundesliga on matchday 15. After sovereign victories in the Champions League during the week, BVB came to a late 1-1 draw at VfL Bochum, but the Munich team was able to turn the game against Mainz 05 with a lot of effort (2-1). With 37 points, FC Bayern is now six points ahead of Dortmund. Domenico Tedeco celebrated a successful debut at Leipzig: RB won 4-1 against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Freiburg lost to Hoffenheim (1: 2), Hertha won 2: 0 against Arminia Bielefeld.

Mainz 05 is not FC Barcelona: While the Catalans went down 3-0 at Bayern in the Champions League during the week, Bo Svensson's Mainz team confirmed their great form. Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann had raved about the Mainz team's "good galling" and the "clear idea, without much frills" on the offensive, exemplified by the storm duo Karim Onisiwo and Jonathan Burkhardt. Then in the 22nd minute: Burkhardt cross, Onisiwo header - 1-0 for Mainz. A tour that reflected the balance of power in the first half, in which the Mainz team were the better team.

After the break, Bayern quickly came up with chances, but Robin Zentner parried Robert Lewandowski and Kingsley Coman's headers. The French then did better with his foot when he took a long pass and took with him and tunnelled hundredweight to make it 1: 1 (53rd). Jamal Musiala, also with a goal against Barcelona, turned the game around with his goal from the edge of the penalty area (74th).

With three home wins in a row, Bochum was able to go into the game against BVB with some confidence. The Dortmund team, with a 5-0 win against Besiktas in their backs, created a number of good chances, but VfL keeper Manuel Riemann held out against Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland. In the 1-0 for VfL (40th) then BVB goalkeeper Gregor Kobel helped. The Swiss rushed against Christopher Antwi-Adjei in an attack in Bochum and fouled him without great distress. Sebastian Polter converted the penalty.

Dortmund put a lot more pressure on after the break and quickly came to what was supposed to equalize through Marius Wolf. But the goal was not given because of a passive offside position by Bellingham. Julian Brandt made it after all: After good preparatory work by Haaland, the midfielder scored volley from a tight angle to the late draw (85th).

During the week, RB Leipzig and its transition coach Achim Beierlorzer were able to cheer against Manchester City in the Champions League, and now they have won a victory with the new head coach: In the first game under Domenico Tedesco, RB was the stronger team against Gladbach from the start. The reward followed a standard situation when Josko Gvardiol headed a sharp cross from Angelino into the goal (21st). The 2-0 came after a nice tempo attack over several stations in the 33rd minute, in the end André Silva used a low cross from Angelino.

Another highlight: a spectacular miss by Silva at the beginning of the second half when he only shot at the crossbar while standing free in front of the empty goal.

The well advanced Gladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer initiated the curious scene with a bad pass.

Ramy Bensebaini's 1: 2 (88.) made it exciting again, then Christopher Nkunku made everything clear (90 + 1.).

Then Benjamin Henrichs (90 + 4.) Also met.

For Gladbach's trainer Adi Hütter there was the next clear bankruptcy.

After the 1: 4 in Cologne and 0: 6 against Freiburg, Borussia suffered the next setback.

With only 18 points so far, the club is in the lower third of the table.

Leipzig, with 21 points only three points better than BMG, is seventh for the time being.

The first goal of Saturday came in the top secret game of the day: SC Freiburg against 1899 Hoffenheim, fourth against fifth. After just three minutes, national player David Raum (three missions) used his place on the left and scored from an acute angle to make it 0: 1. Freiburg also has young national players: Nico Schlotterbeck (nominated, not yet used) scored after a corner to equalize (21st). After a good hour, two veterans then met in a face-to-face duel. Vicenzo Griffo took the penalty kick, but Oliver Baumann in the TSG goal fended off the mid-high shot from Freiburg. For the final point, Chris Richards ensured in the fourth minute of stoppage time - 1: 2.

Hertha BSC came into the game with a swing in the second game under Tayfun Korkut and had two good opportunities through Suat Serdar right from the start.

But it was only in the second half that Stevan Jovetic redeemed Berlin against the penultimate from Bielefeld with a well-placed shot in the corner (53rd).

The attacker had already saved Hertha the previous week with two goals in a 2-2 draw against VfB Stuttgart.

With the 2-0, Davie Selke made everything clear (90 + 4.).

The Berlin team was able to expand its lead on the direct relegation places to eight points.
