It just doesn't stop with the Erding Gladiators.

Erding - Whenever the coach thinks he has a reasonably full cast on board, there are setbacks.

Therefore, the game against EHC Klostersee had to be canceled on Sunday.

The home game tonight (8 p.m.) against EHC Königsbrunn will take place - even if there is the next long-term injured.

"Now it's getting tight," says Erdings trainer Thomas Vogl with a worried expression. The Gladiators are stuck in ninth place in the table, four points are already missing to move into the championship round. The coach looks back on Friday's 0:10 defeat in Waldkraiburg. “At 4pm I had 16 outfield players and two goalkeepers. When I got into the car at home and drove off from Landshut, one rejection after another came in, ”he says. In the end there were five - including two players who tested positive. One is even boosted, like the majority. The coach emphasizes that all players are vaccinated anyway.

"It was simply too late to notify the juniors," says Vogl. Some players spontaneously packed the bag of Philipp Spindler, who was an assistant coach but then had to go on the ice. "I can understand that some fans were upset, but they should also see the background," said the coach, defending himself against the violent criticism that had been loud on the Internet. "If I had known that earlier, I would of course have taken junior players with me."

Then Daniel Krzizok went into the cabin injured after a good ten minutes. Like a few days earlier in Kempten, the striker had been checked from behind and crashed headlong into the gang - with consequences. "The Dany can no longer play in December," said the coach. After Sebastian Schwarz and Florian Zimmermann, he is now the third long-term injured leader. "So much came together in Waldkraiburg, and then a game like this can come out with such a result," says Vogl. "The result is very bitter and really hurts."

How things will go on now was discussed in an internal board meeting on Sunday evening, Vogl reports.

So the decision was made to play the game tonight against the direct competitor Königsbrunn, "because otherwise we will run out of catch-up dates".

No new date has yet been found for the game against Klostersee.

“If we want to finish eighth, then we have to win,” says Vogl.

Who plays tonight, "that will only be decided in the course of the day".

The juniors are always ready.

"We will fill up accordingly so that we can compete with three rows."
