Fate always has new setbacks in store for the Erding Gladiators.

Erding - Thomas Vogl is currently not to be envied for his coaching job at the Erding Gladiators.

Bad news regularly overtakes him, and criticism from outside is getting louder and louder.

There is no end to the crisis in sight, as the 4-1 defeat in the catch-up game on Tuesday against EHC Königsbrunn - who had previously lost four times in a row - showed.

And there is another injured person to complain about.

The Gladiators were quickly 3-0 down, in the second third Erding was close to making the connection when the 0: 4 fell four seconds before the end of the third.

The Erdinger ice hackers continued to fight in the final third, but were only rewarded with one hit.

"We really wanted to win something to make up for, but didn't find our way into the game in the first third," said Vogl at the press conference.

“Then we made three blatant, individual mistakes, all three of which led to goals being conceded.

These mistakes shouldn't happen, but they just happen.

It is tragic that all three of them have conceded goals. "

During the first break, he tried to build up the team and stay calm. His team then had better chances, Königsbrunn hardly had any chances. "But then you get the 0: 4 four seconds before the end, again after an individual mistake". In the third period his team showed great morale, "but at the moment we are making a lot of mistakes in the back and no goals in the front."

The gladiators coach said in summary that the team gave everything: "The morale was great, I can't blame anyone today." He always spoke well to the team during the breaks. “What do you do when nothing works? Then you still have to stay positive. If someone has to stay positive, then it's the coach, ”explained Vogl. “You have to tell the guys what makes them strong and leave everything out of the negative. Everything that is negative has to get out of the cabin. In any case, his troop “tried everything and gave everything, but it just wasn't meant to be”. And he added: “We have a lot of 17 and 18 year olds on the team. You can't ask that they break the game. "

The next personal setback then came in the final third. “One downer is Marko Babic's injury,” reported Vogl. His striker has an earlier broken finger on one hand that has been stabilized with a wire. "The Babo got a shot precisely at this finger, now the wire and thus also the finger is bent," explained the trainer and added with a desperate expression: "It doesn't look good at all."

This means that the list of injuries has been extended further.

In addition to Sebastian Schwarz, who will probably no longer be able to play this season, as well as Daniel Krzizok and Florian Zimmermann, who are expected to attack again in January, Lars Bernhardt, Timo Borrmann, Alex Gantschnig and Michael Trox were missing against Königsbrunn.

"Two have Corona, the other two are currently not in the squad due to private decisions," explained coach Vogl when asked.

He doesn't want to say more about it.

It's really not easy as a gladiators trainer at the moment.
