Gladiators make life difficult for the favorite for a long time

Long held up, but in the end the Gladiators had no chance against clever Miesbachers.
Miesbach / Erding - Even if the 8: 2 (3: 0, 3: 2, 2: 0) sounds very clear for the TEV Miesbach, the Erding Gladiators were not dissatisfied after the game on Friday evening.
They had stood up to the second in the table for a long time.
Ultimately, however, it was the cleverness that made the difference.
Erding's coach Thomas Vogl was finally able to fall back on three complete blocks, thanks to the three promotional licensed players Kevin Lengle, Daniel Schroepfer and Jonas Stern from the upper division Deggendorfer SC. The Gladiators were able to keep up with the pace of the Miesbachers, although the second in the table was superior, as expected - and also took advantage of the first power play: Felix Feuerreiter made it 1-0 (3rd). The three newcomers got involved right away. Bad luck for Stern, who initially narrowly missed a hit, then got a slap shot to the foot, limped off the ice, but was able to continue. Overall, the Erdinger acted much safer and more concentrated than in the previous games, when the error rate was very high. Stocksauer was then gladiator coach Vogl.The main referee did not punish a clear blow with the stick against Mark Waldhausen, Stefano Rizzo promptly scored almost in direct return to make it 2-0 (11th). Shortly before the end of the third, the same player left Erdings goalkeeper Thomas Mende with no defensive chance at 3-0 (19th).
The second section was one of the strongest Erdinger thirds of the last few weeks. Not even 90 seconds were played when Erik Modlmayr finished a great solo to make it 1: 3. Bohumil Slavicek scored 4-1 two minutes later, but then a Miesbacher marched onto the penalty bench. The following power play absolutely deserved its name this time, and Waldhausen finally chased the puck into the net to make it 2: 4 (25th). But then the gladiators robbed themselves of the fruits of their labor. After a mistake there was a penalty against Erding. The Miesbachers did not miss this chance, and Michael Grabmaier made the majority 5: 2 (32nd). And when, less than a minute later, a rebound fell exactly on Slavicek's bat, the Czech dusted off ice-cold to 6: 2.
In the final section, the gladiators tried everything, but the clever Miesbachers had the game under control and did not allow themselves to be disturbed by a few penalties.
Felix Feuerreiter finally made the 8-2 final score perfect with two hits (48th, 58th).
