Three weeks ago Borussia Dortmund was briefly leader of the Bundesliga, now BVB is nine points behind Bayern.

With the 2-3 defeat at Hertha BSC, BVB lost further ground to Bayern.

After the break and a 1-0 half-time lead, Dortmund completely lost control of the game.

Both teams went into the game with significantly different formations, Hertha coach Tayfun Korkut changed six players compared to the 4-0 defeat in Mainz, at BVB Marco Rose had a total of five players after the illness-related absence of goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and Mats Hummels substitute.

A strange miss, an offside goal

It was an open game in the beginning, both teams missed good chances, Hertha's Jurgen Ekkelenkamp managed to free-standing the ball next to the goal from six meters.

After 15 minutes, the Berlin team cheered over the alleged opening goal by Myziane Maolida, but referee Marco Fritz refused to acknowledge the goal after examining the video evidence.

Hertha team-mate Ishak Belfodil is said to have been sidelined and irritated goalkeeper Marvin Hitz.

A controversial decision.

That's what the Dortmund team met for.

Julian Brandt used a Haaland template ice cold for a happy leadership at this point.

After that, BVB became more sovereign, but Axel Witsel did not get more than one offside goal until the break.

Hertha came out of the break with a lot of pressure and was rewarded for their commitment in the 51st minute.

Belfodil ran away from his opponent Witsel on the left wing, penetrated the penalty area and pushed the ball past Hitz to equalize 1-1.

Judge turns the game

And just six minutes later the game was shot.

Marco Richter withdrew from the edge of the penalty area, the Dortmund defense had previously reacted too hesitantly, Hitz had no chance.

Hertha suddenly led 2-1.

BVB was able to return the substitute Thorgan Hazard, but this time BVB had bad luck: His goal was not recognized because of offside position.

After that there was even more trouble for the guests.

After a bad pass from goal scorer Brandt, the BVB defense got into complete disorder, again it was Richter who took advantage of this with a full shot into the goal.

With seven minutes before the end, tension came up again: Substitute Stefan Tigges hit the next goal when he headed a Guerreiro cross into the goal.

But nothing more happened.
