The Erding Gladiators have signed a cooperation agreement with Deggendorfer SC.

Erding - "We have to strengthen ourselves," said Thomas Vogl, trainer of the Erding Gladiators, after the recent defeats. And his call has already been heard. He himself took the initiative and let his good relationships with Deggendorfer SC play. Result: The Lower Bavarian upper division and the Upper Bavarian division enter into a cooperation. This means that the DSC provides the Erdingers with funding license players if necessary. But vice versa, the way to Deggendorf should be cleared for talented young Erdinger players in the medium term.

Vogl had played in Deggendorf in the 2012/13 season and was able to score 46 points as a defender in 48 league games. From this time he still has excellent contacts in Lower Bavaria. After several phone calls with the sports director Thomas Greilinger and the new DSC trainer Jiri Ehrenberger, the cooperation was sealed - a cooperation from which both clubs should benefit. General tenor: Young talents should be introduced to senior ice hockey with more ice age.

"The possibility that young upper league players from the DSC squad can receive additional ice age in a responsible role at TSV Erding in the Bayernliga creates an absolute win-win situation for both cooperation partners and the players", says it in a joint press release from both clubs. "Initially only players from Deggendorf will be sent to Erding."

According to the statutes, a maximum of five players under the age of 24 may be equipped with a sponsorship license - a maximum of three may be used. DSC defenders Kevin Lengle (17) and Paul Wallek (20), who comes from the Erdinger offspring, as well as the strikers Jonas Stern (17) and Daniel Schroepfer (20), who comes from the Dorfener offspring, receive a funding license for the time being. The two coaches decide at short notice after consultation which three players will be released after Erding. On Friday evening in the 2: 8 defeat in Miesbach, Lengle, Stern and Schroepfer wore the green and white jersey for the first time and showed promising approaches.

“The starting signal for the cooperation is given at exactly the right moment. We are very happy to give young talents from the big leagues the chance to take on responsibility with us. Our current tense staff situation is relieved not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively, ”says Erdings coach Vogl with satisfaction. But he also has an eye on the way in the other direction. "We are very much looking forward to the cooperation and will fill it with as much life as possible, because there are also great talents in Erdingen's youngsters who can certainly make the leap into the top league."

The people of Deggendorf are also convinced of the cooperation. “For our concept that we want to make young players better and help them to take the next step, the cooperation with the Erding Gladiators now offers the perfect complement. Here they can get a taste of even more responsibility in the now very attractive Bayern League and continue to prove themselves in men's ice hockey, provided that the personnel situation with us, as well as in the DNL team, allows ", explains the sports director and top scorer of Deggendorfer SC, Thomas Greilinger. Of course, the DSC teams would have priority, "but as an additional opportunity for players who may currently have little ice age in the top division team, this will only do their development good".

The fans in Erding can already examine some of the Deggendorf sponsorship license players on Sunday at the home game against ESC Geretsried, which will kick off at 6 p.m.

“We will probably have the youngest team of gladiators of all time on the ice with two 17, two 18, two 19, one 20 and two 21 year olds”, announced coach Vogl.

“That's just how it is at the moment.

We make a virtue out of necessity. "
