He referred to himself as someone who "connected people".
He was considered a marketing genius who acted behind the scenes of the motorsport circus.
The native of Montenegro, Shadow, whose real name was Cedomir Komljenovic, died in Milan, where he was admitted to the Vercelli hospital with a corona infection after returning from Switzerland.
He last lived in San Nazzaro Sesia in the province of Novara, and leaves behind a daughter.

The German tennis icon writes on Instagram: “I met Monty Shadow for the first time in 1985 as a 17-year-old in Milan, where he had a beautiful villa outside the city with a large studio for his photography.
We became good friends and had so many memories together ... Monty was always ahead of his time and and the Laureus Movement was the child of his thoughts.
My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

In the early 1980s, Shadow appeared for the first time in Formula 1, arranged sponsorship deals and photographed Hollywood actors and models such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Christy Brinkley and Christy Turlington.
His relationships with drivers such as Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and Jean Alesi are said to have been very close, as well as those with Bernie Ecclestone.
He was a co-founder of the Laureus Award.
Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali also reacted to Shadow's death and tweeted: “I am deeply sad to hear that a true friend of Formula 1, Monty Shadow, is dead.
