On the 18th matchday of the 2nd division, SV Werder Bremen won 4-1 against Hannover 96 away from home.

The game report of the DeichStube * for the last game of 2021.

Hanover - Ole Werner and

SV Werder Bremen are a

perfect match: The second division also celebrated a victory in the third game under the new coach.

After the deserved 4: 1 (1: 1) victory in the small northern derby at

Hannover 96

the relegated person can dream of a direct re-promotion, because the distance to the relegation place (Hamburger SV) is only one point. Werder can get over it just to go into the winter break as seventh in the table. Romano Schmid (22nd), Marvin Ducksch (51st), Anthony Jung (72nd) and Marco Friedl (84th) scored for Werder. Sebastian Kerk (34.) had ensured the interim equalization and had the ex-Bremen Christoph Dabrowski as 96 interim coach hope for his own third victory in a row. But Werder were clearly the better team on this Sunday afternoon.

Werder coach

Ole Werner

did it again and acted according to the motto “Never change a winning team”.

There was a change on the jerseys, albeit a traditional one: a Christmas tree replaced the Werder diamond on the chest - for the 18th time since the premiere in 2002.

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96: Romano Schmid and Sebastian Kerk with goals worth seeing

The Bremen game was also impressive. The guests went straight to the front on a grass that was very difficult to play on. After

just

eight minutes,

Marvin Ducksch

had a great chance to take the lead, but after some fine preparatory work by Niclas Füllkrug, he gave up. The two ex-Hanoverians had to put up with a lot of whistles from the stands, although only 5,000 spectators were allowed in the HDI Arena during the corona pandemic. They then experienced an exciting 22nd minute. Werder's Marco Friedl was just able to prevent the 0: 1 against the fast Niklas Hult when the momentous counterattack started: Via Christian Groß and Leonardo Bittencourt, the ball landed at

Romano Schmid

who, as with his first Werder goal against Aue, slipped the ball with his right foot into the left bend to make it 1-0. A great goal, but the 96 captain Marcel Franke defended too passively.

While the green-whites cheered, coach Werner defender Milos Veljkovic got on the sidelines and gave him instructions.

Because on the right side of the defense there were big problems against the fast Linton Maina and Hult.

As in the 27th minute, when Maximilian Beier

failed

after Hult's preparatory work on the well-positioned

Jiri Pavlenka

.

A

little later,

the

SV Werder Bremen

keeper could

no longer speak of

a good positional play

.

With a free kick from 38 meters, Pavlenka expected a cross, but Sebastian Kerk cheekily curled the ball on goal and actually made it 1-1 (34th).

What a buck from Bremen!

The goalkeeper discussion among the green-whites should start again.

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96: Marvin Ducksch hits the lead with an arc lamp

After all, Pavlenka showed after the break that he can do better and reacted strongly after a repeated Maina breakthrough (47th).

Werder Bremen

looked a bit confused for a short time. But there was still a certain

Marvin Ducksch

: Using an arc-headed lamp, he marked the curious 2: 1 (51st) from the edge of the penalty area, but, as announced at the old place of work, waived any cheers. Unlike in the first leg, when he scored for Lower Saxony in the small northern derby.

Werder got no control over the game, the hosts made a lot of steam - and almost got a strange own goal: Friedl landed on Ömer Toprak's body and sailed from there to the crossbar (64th).

Take a deep breath at Werder!

Just like a little later, when Pavlenka saved with a defensive foot against Beier (66th).

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96: Anthony Jung and Marco Friedl increase the result

Ole Werner

reacted and brought in the more defensive Nicolai Rapp for goal scorer Schmid (68th) in midfield. But the focus was on another Bremen player:

Anthony Jung

, who had his first assist in the Werder jersey at 1-0. In the 72nd minute, the newcomer from Brondby Copenhagen also entered the scorers list for the first time. A clever cross from Friedl as a result of a corner headed Jung from close range to make it 3-1.

Twelve minutes later,

Marco Friedl

struck

himself, using a Ducksch pass for the preliminary decision.

It was already the third goal of the season for the defender who

wanted to leave

Werder Bremen

in the summer in order to remain first class.

Now he can make a direct return to the Bundesliga with the green-whites.

It continues on January 15th with the home game against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Final result: 4: 1 for Werder

>>>

UPDATE

<<<

3:19 pm:

And that's it!

Werder wins in the third game under Ole Werner for the third time.

This 4: 1 is another important step and a statement - not only the result, but also the way it was, it was very good again.

88.Min.:

Füllkrug is pale in the second half and was without a goal for the first time in weeks.

But the first half was strong and others scored for it.

Friedl, Jung and Ducksch each with one goal and one template.

87.Min

.:

Weiser and Dinkci come into the game - for this Füllkrug and Agu go.

84.Min

.: Ducksch had sent Friedl on the trip, who then ran to goalkeeper Hansen and loaded the ice cold.

The thing is through and new coach Werner shouts everything out while cheering!

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96 in the live ticker: Jung and Friedl put the lid on!

84.Min .: Goal for Werder!

Friedl does it 4: 1 and close the lid!

81.Min .:

Werder is now playing it very confidently and is also looking for the decision.

Hanover is currently not finding any ideas to become dangerous again.

There are ten minutes left on the clock.

80.Min .:

And immediately Gruev picks up the yellow card after coming too late in a duel in midfield.

79th Min .:

In the run-up to the Füllkrug chance, Bittencourt was fouled and had to be replaced.

Gruev comes for him, who is supposed to ensure further security.

75th min .:

The huge chance to make a decision!

Bittencourt storms forward and plays Ducksch on the left.

His flank on Füllkrug is a little too imprecise, so he beheads over the goal of Hansen.

72nd min .:

The first corner was blocked again by the hosts.

After the next corner Friedl gets the ball, crosses with an overview to Jung and he only has to head the ball into the net.

72nd min .: Gooooor for Werder!

Young with the 3: 1 !!!

70.Min .:

After the game could continue, Beier came back over the left at speed.

This time Veljkovic was able to deflect the ball and Pavlenka was able to hold onto it.

On the other side, Ducksch closes from a distance - the ball is blocked for a corner.

68.Min:

At the moment, Hult is being treated after he bumped into Agu.

Meanwhile, Ole Werner uses the chance to replace Rapp for Schmid, who is probably still ailing.

66th min .:

Next good opportunity for Hanover.

Beier has room on the left, goes inside and withdraws - Pavlenka parries.

Werder have to be careful now!

64th min .: It's

unbelievable what goals and almost goals are falling here today!

Friedl shoots Toprak and the ball flies and flies and lands on the crossbar - that would have been bitter.

Luck for Werder!

63rd Min .:

The game continues.

Either of them can go on after they hit each other.

61st min .:

While Schmid and Franke have to be treated, I'll tell you about the changes: Weydandt came for Frantz and Krajnc for Kerk.

They also directly created more pressure.

59.Min

.:

After a corner, Weydandt, who has just been substituted, comes to the end and tries with a heel - but Pavlenka is there and holds the ball.

57th min:

Incidentally, that was Anthony Jung's first template in the green and white jersey.

56.Min .:

Werder tries to put more pressure on and to add more pressure.

This has not yet led to a next chance, but they were able to keep the 96 out of their own box.

50.Min .

:

Young with a rather bad cross from the left, the Hanoverian Frantz forwards the ball involuntarily.

So Ducksch gets the header, overlaps Hansen and puts it 2: 1 for Werder!

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96 in the live ticker: Marvin Ducksch brings Werder back into the lead!

50.Min .: Goal for Werder!

Duuucksch scores 2: 1!

50.Min .:

Agu is fouled on the right edge of the box - good free kick position for Werder ...

47.Min

.:

Next potential mistake situations: Hanover only crosses from the right, the ball flies unintentionally towards the goal, Pavlenka is on the lookout.

With the next cross from the left, in which Maina prevails again against Veljkovic, Pavlenka can only steer the ball away - that was also due to the bad turf and in that case has no effect.

46th min:

The game is on again!

3:33 p.m .:

The players come back to the field ...

3:29 p.m .:

The second half of the small northern derby will start in a few minutes.

We can still be curious what Ole Werner will come up with.

3:26 p.m .:

It's hard to say how the game can and will develop in the future.

But if the green-whites continue to play forward and the slightly more clear chances play out, at the same time allow less on the defensive, a victory is absolutely realistic.

3:23 p.m.: The

fact that it is 1: 1 at the break is very bitter from Werder's point of view.

Hannover had one or the other opportunity, but overall Werder was more dangerous and more decisive for the game.

The goal then falls through the courageous and strong kicked long-range free kick by Kerk, which Pavlenka still has to fend off.

3:18 p.m.:

After this chance it is halftime.

45.Min .:

The third dream goal almost fell: Bittencourt from about ten meters half-right with a nice overhead kick, but keeper Hansen parries for a corner.

45.Min .:

Bittencourt sees the yellow box because of complaining.

In the 33rd minute, Groß had already seen yellow after a tactical foul.

44.Min

.:

Maina is sent and walks up to Pavlenka alone, but cannot get past him - and offside is indicated afterwards.

43.Min .:

Again the hosts come over the left with Hult - but his sharp cross is blocked.

40.Min .:

Werder tries again and again to come forward - sometimes with long balls on the two strikers, sometimes with a combination.

It is usually not really dangerous, but they are closer to 2-1 than Hannover.

36.Min .:

Werder could have answered almost immediately.

Bittencourt is sent over to the right and can pull inside.

Instead of shooting, he opts for a sharp and flat cross on Füllkrug - but it becomes too sharp and Gücke misses the ball.

34.Min

.:

Sebastian Kerk, was ready for the free kick just before the center circle, while Pavlenka was a few meters in front of the goal.

Kerk tried it straightforward and outsmarted Pavlenka because the flight curve was difficult to calculate.

But one still has to speak of a mistake.

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96 in the live ticker: Pavlenka-Patzer leads to compensation!

34th Min .: Goal for Hanover!

Kerk scores 1: 1 with a free kick from 40 or 45 meters!

Bitter...

32nd Min .:

That looks pretty good for the most part, which Werner's team playfully shows.

Since the 1-0 win, however, there has been no clear chance.

29.Min .:

Overall, it can be said that Werder's defense has to be careful because Hannover are determined to play forward - but generally Werder have control of the match.

27.Min

.:

Again, left-back Hult bustles in the Bremen penalty area - the ball then comes to Beier, who wants to poke the ball into the goal, but Pavlenka holds the ball.

23.Min .:

Before that, Hult almost had a huge chance of a final for Hanover, where Agu was able to interfere decisively and initiate the counterattack.

22.Min .:

Again, the attack runs on Füllkrug, who this time plays Schmid, who is free in the headquarters.

And Ösi takes a heart again and strokes the ball between two 96s and over the keeper in the right angle - wonderful!

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96 in the live ticker: Romano Schmid puts Werder in the lead!

22.Min .: Gooooool for SV Werder Bremen!

Romano Schmid scores 1-0!

Insanity!

19.Min .:

The green-whites are so far the slightly better and more active team.

But Hanover is by no means without a chance.

The game is largely even so far.

17.Min .:

Again it is Niclas Füllkrug, who penetrates about 15 meters in front of the goal and can pull away - unfortunately the shot is again rather harmless because it doesn't hit the ball properly.

15. Min .:

First really good opportunity for the red pants.

Maina prevails on the right against Veljkovic and fits in the middle.

However, Hult cannot overcome the octopus - nevertheless: That was dangerous.

12.Min .:

... Ducksch is whistled by the spectators when taking the corner ball, nothing comes of the corner.

11.Min .:

And again Werder!

Füllkrug prevails on the sixteenth, plays a one-two from Ducksch and plays Jung on the left.

He also pulls directly, but Hanover's keeper Hansen parries for the corner ...

9.Min .:

The 96 with a first shot from a distance.

Pavlenka only has the ball in follow-up, but ultimately no danger,

7th min .:

Next good chance for Ducksch!

After a pass from Agu to the penalty line, Füllkrug passes the ball on to Ducksch.

Its conclusion goes just past the box to the left.

5. Min .:

A sharp corner from Hanover's Kerk is deflected by Ducksch relatively narrowly over his own goal.

4. Min .:

First good chance for Werder.

Ducksch is sent with a long ball from Toprak and runs alone towards Hanover's goalkeeper, but ultimately does not get the ball - in the end, he is offside anyway.

3rd min .:

In the first few minutes, the red pants let the ball circulate in their ranks.

Werder Bremen against Hannover 96 in the live ticker: The game is on!

1. Min .:

kick-off.

The game is on!

1:28 p.m.:

The fans are ready, the teams are running in, the game is about to start!

1:25 p.m.:

By the way, Leo Bittencourt will be 28 years old today.

Congratulations from this point.

Hopefully that pushes it in such a way that he makes a good game and maybe even another goal.

1:21 p.m .:

Ole Werner said on the subject of promotion a few minutes ago to Sky: “I think it's good to have ambitious goals, but it is primarily important that we concentrate on our day-to-day work on the pitch and consistently achieve good goals Perform work."

1:19 p.m.:

By the way: a few days ago we started a survey that has now ended, with the question of whether Werder can still dream of promotion or should get this goal out of their heads.

More than 75% of the 11,000+ users voted not to lose sight of the rise.

Rightly in my opinion, considering how close SV Werder can get to the top three ranks with a win today.

1:13 p.m .:

Another 15 minutes of patience until referee Martin Petersen lets the ball roll.

The teams are warming up, the tension rises, and it's about to start!

1:09 p.m.:

The SVW will appear today for the 18th time with the Christmas tree instead of the diamond as the Werder emblem.

This tradition has existed since 2002/2003 - only in 2003 and 2017 did the green and whites not wear this special jersey.

1:01 p.m.:

While I am

getting

you in the

mood

for the game, the players are warming up.

Marvin Ducksch, who played for Hanover in the first leg, greeted numerous ex-colleagues with warm hugs.

12:58 p.m.:

Self-confidence and self-image seem to come back to Ole Werner, but not only to revive at Werder.

While the Green-Whites won 4-0 against Aue and 3-2 in Regensburg, the 96 have also won both games since interim coach Christoph Dabrowski took over.

First they defeated HSV 1-0, then they scored 2-1 at Ingolstadt.

12:54 p.m.:

Hannover 96, on the other hand, is in a relegation battle and is currently only three points ahead of 16th place.

However, the Lower Saxony are only six points behind Werder, which shows once again how close this 2nd Bundesliga is.

12:51 p.m.:

SV Werder has a great chance of slipping very close to the promotion places with a win in today's match.

Depending on how the simultaneous match between Regensburg and Darmstadt ends, the SVW can catch up to one point to the relegation place and up to three points to the 2nd place.

12:43 p.m .:

The game starts in about 45 minutes in the HDI-Arena in front of 5000 spectators.

We can be curious to see how the green-whites act in the third game under Ole Werner and whether they can win today.

In the next few minutes you will learn how the requirements are and what else you need to know.

12:36 p.m.:

In addition to the unchanged starting XI, coach Werner changes on the bench.

Compared to the away game in Regensburg, the young debutant Chiarodia, Dominik Becker from the U23, Simon Straudi and Park are missing.

Weiser, Rapp, Schmidt and Dinkci are back in the squad.

12:31 p.m .

: Sündermann, Krajnc, Dehm, Ochs, Stolze, Muslija, Ennali, Weydandt and Sulejmani could come from the bank.

12:30 p.m .:

The hosts begin like this: Hansen - Muroya, Franke, Börner, Hult - Kaiser, Frantz - Kerk, Ernst, Maina - Beier.

12:27 p.m .:

Zetterer, Weiser, Schönfelder, Schmidt, Rapp, Gruev, Mbom, Assale and Dinkci take on the bench.

12:25 p.m .:

The lineups are there!

Werder starts as follows: Pavlenka - Agu, Veljkovic, Toprak, Friedl, Jung - Groß, Bittencourt, Schmid - Ducksch, Füllkrug.

So everything as usual - no changes.

12:20 p.m .:

Moin dear Werder friends and a warm welcome to the live ticker for the away game of SV Werder Bremen at Hannover 96. At 12:30 p.m. the line-ups for the small north derby will follow.

At this point, the

live ticker

for the second division duel on Sunday between

SV Werder Bremen

and

Hannover 96

is created .

The kick-off in the HDI-Arena is at 1.30 p.m.

An hour in advance, the line-ups of both teams start here as usual.

Go to the preliminary report:

Ole Werner wants the hat trick: Werder Bremen's coach is aiming for a third win in their third game in Hanover

Bremen - Viktor Skripnik probably wouldn't have dreamed that these three games - they are now a good seven years ago - would be a public topic again shortly before Christmas 2021.

First the 2-0 in the DFB Cup against Chemnitz.

Then the 2: 1 in the Bundesliga against Mainz and finally a 2: 0 in the league against Stuttgart - this was the Ukrainian’s dream start as coach of

SV Werder Bremen

in autumn 2014

.

Since then, immediately after taking office, things have not gone better for any of his successors, which could change on Sunday.

for whom - just to remind you again - it would be the third win in the third game.

Viktor Skripnik would probably be able to take it.
