A number of chairmen of teams in the Premier League who are also members of the board of the league administration are expected to convene today (Wednesday) to discuss the establishment of the independent league and the formation of a uniform front with the basketball association on the subject.
It should be noted that there are also divided opinions within the board of directors regarding the form of conduct vis-à-vis the union and the establishment of the independent league, and in the coming meetings things may become clear.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the administration, Shmuel Frenkel, sent a scathing letter to the heads of the basketball association announcing that members of the union's board who voted in favor of dissolving the administration would no longer be able to participate as members of the union's board of directors.
Frenkel also announced in the letter that the basketball association's courts are no longer allowed to discuss the dispute between the parties as they receive their salaries from the association and are therefore also in conflict of interest.
The administration argues that since the union is in fact a monopoly in the industry it will have to provide them with services such as referees, player registration and more, even if an independent league is established which is not under its jurisdiction, by virtue of competition law.
"Such conduct of the union, may pass the criminal threshold," it was written, among other things.
