The sporting situation tipped the balance: The Michael Schütz era at TSV Eching ended prematurely.
The club and the coach diverge on the good side.
Eching
- District division TSV Eching and coach Michael Schütz go their separate ways.
This was announced by Manfred Oster, the first chairman of the zebras, and soccer department head Fabian Goldstein shortly before Christmas.
“We sat down with Michi and discussed for a long time.
There is nothing wrong with it.
But we want to achieve the turnaround and need a new impetus, ”explains Oster.
Schütz's successor has not yet been determined.
"We are in talks," said the club boss.
TSV Eching winters in the last place in the table
The reason for the separation is the sporting situation: The Echinger overwintered on the last place in the table in the district league north.
"In the last games before the winter break, we were at eye level, but we don't have much time and are five points behind the relegation place," says Oster.
When Schütz signed for the 2021/22 season last winter, TSV was on the national league course.
After breaking off the lap using the quotient rule, Eching slipped to second place.
This was followed by the departures of numerous key players, including captain Thomas Niggl and goal scorer Maxi Ceballos.
Schütz: "When I started, I was in front of a pile of broken glass."
"When I started, I was in front of a pile of broken glass," says the 51-year-old Schütz.
It took time to get the “thrown together team” on course.
“I think we did a great job.
But we weren't successful, ”emphasized the outgoing coach.
What was missing was a striker of the format of a Ceballos, who scored 14 goals in 17 games for league rivals FSV Pfaffenhofen - one more than the entire TSV squad.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
Schütz himself brought a thought to the board: "Perhaps it is better to invest the money in a player-coach or a player who can not only influence from outside, but on the field." Both sides confirmed that they are doing well separated.
The Echinger Zebras have eleven games left to prevent relegation.
Because direct relegation is currently ten points away, this path can only lead via relegation.
