Danny Abdia after his season-high record against Utah (Wizards official website)

Washington continues to recover from the bad times, and continues to receive impressive views from Danny Abdia. The Wizards recorded a second straight win tonight (Thursday-Friday), beating the Knicks 117: 124 at Madison Square Garden despite missing two top five players, Bradley Bill and Cantabius Caldwell Pop. In doing so, they improved their balance to 17 wins against 15 losses, and continued the poor fitness of the Knicks (18:14) who suffered an eighth loss in 11 games.

Abdia, as mentioned, was again at his best, as he continues to present a fantastic defense and continues to contribute on offense as well, with a fourth straight game in double digits in the points column.

Abdia may not have jumped to the top five despite the lack of staff - Wes Ansald Jr. preferred to keep his key role off the bench - but was given 29 minutes during which he provided 14 points (5 of 8 from the field including 1 of 4 from the three, and 3 of 4 From penalties), 5 rebounds, two assists, a career-high 3 blocks, and impressive personal defense.

In the crucial final quarter, Abdia was given two completely different defensive tasks, while also maintaining a powerful power forward like Julius Randall and also a nimble guard like Kamba Walker.

In both he stood up successfully, and helped the Wizards a lot to achieve the victory.

The first half was dominated by the Knicks, who mostly enjoyed an explosion by Kamba Walker, who until recently was seen with a foot and a half out of the team.

The elusive quarterback mentioned forgetfulness with an impressive offensive display of 28 points in the first half (and 44 in the entire game), which swept the Knicks to the lead at the break after a second quarter of 26:37.

The third quarter was marked by the Wizards' comeback, which saw Spencer Dinwidi finally at his best after a streak of bad games, and also got a record game from rookie Corey Kispert.

The close game was decided in favor of the Wizards who made defensive adjustments in the final quarter, pinned Abdia to Walker and Julius Randall who were the Knicks' executives, and enjoyed two clutch threes by Kyle Kozma - not for the first time this season.

The Wizards are perfect without Bradley Bill, and he too is showing signs of life.

In all, no fewer than seven Wizards players (who came up with a perfect 0-4 record in games from which Bradley Bill was absent) scored in double digits: Dinwidi finished with 21, 12 assists and 7 rebounds, Kispert Sniper 20, Kozma (18), Ark Holiday (16), Monterz Harle (15) and Daniel Gaford (11) did their thing, and as mentioned Abdia also continued the good personal period.

Mentioned forgetfulness, but lost.

On the other hand, the Knicks received an explosion from Kamba Walker, who finished his best game of the season with 44 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Julius Randall contributed 23 and 9 rebounds, Alec Brex added 20 and 7, but that was not enough for the fading Knicks.

The Wizards and Abdia will try to continue the momentum on the night between Sunday and Monday with an away game against Philadelphia.
