The North American professional ice hockey league has canceled further games due to corona and has extended the Christmas break.
As the National Hockey League announced on Saturday, all 14 games scheduled for the coming Monday will be canceled.
Game operations will continue on December 28th at the earliest.
This is to give the teams more time to evaluate the results of the league-wide corona tests and to see to what extent their players are ready for action.
According to the NHL, this Sunday is the official start of training for all teams.
The league then wants to decide how the game will continue.
Most recently, all games scheduled for December 23rd had already been canceled.
Because of the large number of catch-up games, the NHL had decided not to turn off any players for the Winter Olympics from February 4 to 20 in Beijing.
During this time, the meetings that were canceled due to the Corona crisis should be made up for.
