"I always bustle through," says striker Eva Lachner from SpVgg Attenkirchen.

She is 17 years old and already the top scorer of the newcomer.

Attenkirchen

- She's playing her first year in the women's division, and she's mixing up the district league quite a bit: striker Eva Lachner.

With eleven goals from ten league games, the 17-year-old from Gütlsdorf is SpVgg Attenkirchen's most successful goalscorer - and is second in the league.

Sure: She has a big part in the fact that the SpVgg wintered as a climber with 15 points from ten matches in the secured middle of the table.

In the FT interview, she talks about the secret of her success, her role model - and strange habits.

Eva, what is your secret behind your strong hit rate?

There's a whole team behind so many goals, and it's not just my merit.

My team plays me very well, so sometimes I just have to push the ball in.

But thanks to my speed, I always bustle through beautifully.

I think that I am often underestimated because of my height.

But of course there is also a lot of training behind it.

I just took away a lot from the boys and from the youth.

How has your athletic career been so far?

When I was six years old, I started playing indoors for Attenkirchen in winter.

The reason for this was the friends in the village.

The guys always said I should come to training with them.

I played with the boys for the first few years, but I've been playing with the girls since I was young.

Still, I helped out with the boys every now and then up to the C-youth.

Since this season I've been playing in the women's first team.

"I just played my game."

How difficult was it for you to step into the adult sector after the long forced Corona break?

Of course it was a change.

It's more focused than with the girls, and you want to achieve something, even if the fun is still in the foreground.

Overall, the transition was not difficult for me.

I just played my game - and I get on really well with my teammates.

What have been the best moments with your team so far?

Few team outings were possible due to Corona.

However, we still had a promotion and a season end party, to which the new players were invited.

In terms of football, the district cup is our highlight.

We are very proud of our achievements so far - after all, we are in the semi-finals and we want to win the trophy in the end.

The team bus trip to the game in Aßling was also very special for me - many players from the men's teams were there and supported us.

Cohesion is therefore very important in the club.

Does that also account for your success?

I think so.

Our motto is “Two teams, one team” because we have two women's teams in the club.

We all cheer each other on, we train together and are also very ambitious together.

No player is hacked after a defeat.

Everyone fights for everyone.

The team spirit is great in my team.

And I'm excited to see what else we will experience together.

Eva Lachner comes from a football-loving family.

Your sister Johanna is the captain of the second team of the Attenkirchen women and a welcome support in the first.

How is it for you to pursue this hobby together?

When we don't play together in a team, we cheer each other on and give each other tips at halftime or after the game.

Of course we also joke about how bad the other one is.

That is also part of being among siblings.

When we play together, however, we know exactly what we're doing and can adapt well to one another.

But there is no competition between us - simply because we are not playing the same position.

Your little sister Franziska also played in the Attenkirchen youth.

Is it a dream one day to play with three people in an Attenkirchen team?

That is one of our great hopes, to be on the field as the Lachner trio in a few years' time.

I am currently playing football with my two cousins Katharina Bauer and Elisabeth Rauscher.

We are a very soccer-loving family.

Do you have a ritual before the games?

What I always have with me are my shin guards, which I've never changed since I started playing soccer.

I attach great importance to them.

Another weird habit is that I can't play without high socks under my shin guards.

Because otherwise that's a strange feeling.

In addition, I'm always very excited before the games - that's when the adrenaline rushes.

So family and friends always have to listen to a lot.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

When you're not on the pitch, what do you do?

I am currently in the twelfth grade at the FOS in Freising and am doing my high school diploma.

That takes up a lot of my time.

Then I would like to start a dual course of study.

Otherwise, I do something with friends outside of the team.

But even when I'm not on the field, a lot revolves around football, because as a Bayern fan I naturally watch the games, even if it's often only at home at the moment because of the corona pandemic.

"It would be nice if we could go up again in two to three years."

Do you also have a role model from FC Bayern?

Ever since I started playing football, that’s Thomas Müller for me.

In my room I have a lot of posters, newspaper articles and pictures.

I'm just a huge fan - and that's why he is of course my footballing role model.

And what are your sporting goals for the future?

Personally, I still have to work on my chances.

My shots could hit the goal even more precisely because they hit the goalkeeper too often.

As a team, we want to survive the season in midfield and have a lot of fun.

As a young team, we can make mistakes on which we can then build.

In the long term, of course, it would be nice if we could move up one more time in two to three years.

Your trainer Alex Urban always praises you for your technical strength.

What would you praise your coaches for?

Our trainers are just incredibly nice and respond to our needs.

Our wishes are almost always implemented.

What is very special for me is that our coach Sepp Kiermeier trained me on my very first career steps and he is now back on the sidelines with the women.
