According to information from the newspaper L'Équipe, Facundo Medina, the defender of RC Lens, was placed in police custody this Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old Argentinian is suspected of having committed willful violence against an ex-girlfriend on the night of December 24 to 25.
The facts would have taken place in Arras (Pas-de-Calais), at the home of the Lensois player.
An argument would have broken out during the evening between Medina and his ex-partner.
The young woman would then have been the target of violence by the Argentine international.
Facts that the latter would have denied.
According to a source close to the player, it was his ex-girlfriend who threw herself on his neck before Medina firmly pushed her away, but without committing violence.
The young woman was prescribed a day of total work interruption and then allegedly filed a complaint.
She was summoned by the police on Sunday morning before Facundo Medina was taken into custody.
The hearing of the Lensois would have ended in the afternoon, but no information has filtered out concerning the legal consequences.
RC Lens has not, for the moment, wanted to communicate on this affair.
