Garmisch-Partenkirchen - When the final siren sounded in the Olympia-Eissportzentrum (OEZ), the fans of SC Riessersee stood and applauded their team.

Honored that their team dominated the leaders from Weiden at times and played enthusiastic ice hockey.

Only: The white-blue conceded goals that were far too easy and left even the best chances.

And so in the end it was the Upper Palatinate who were allowed to cheer in the OEZ.

The Blue Devils Weiden won 6: 3 in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd at SCR.

Over the entire 60 minutes it was always the same guest players who posed massive problems for the white and blue defense. In particular, the attackers Chad Bassen and Nick Latta - with an SCR past - were given far too much space and proved that they know how to use this freedom. The first five minutes served as a template for the entire game. The Riesserseer - cheered on by over 600 spectators - immediately put a lot of pressure, but missed the early opening goal. That fell on the other side. Latta sank the first Weidener degree in the gate, the cold shower for the SCR. He shook himself briefly and then pressed the equalizer. The guests defended compactly and struck again coldly. Bassen was criminally left alone, 0: 2. Then Daniel Allavena, who had been given preference over Michael Boehm, to prove his whole class against Martin Heinisch in order to prevent a higher deficit.

SC Riessersee: Michael Knaub's hit is denied

Shortly before the end of the first period, SCR attacker Michael Knaub came into focus twice.

First of all, he hit the connection goal out of the crowd.

A little later the disc was again in the guest box, but the team of referees around Andreas Flad decided: Stick blow Knaub.

Two-minute penalty for the attacker, who disagreed with this decision at all and who voiced it loudly.

SCR coach Pat Cortina seemed to have addressed the right words to his protégés during the first break - the Werdenfelsers started like the fire brigade.

Only David Seidl and less than two minutes later newcomer Moritz Israel on his home debut turned the game within two minutes.

With all the praise for this urge phase: Ice hockey is and will ultimately be a result sport.

The SCR failed to expand their lead and the Upper Palatinate proved why they are at the top of the table.

Again it was Bassen and Latta who got too much space.

Again it was Bassen and Latta, who coldly exploited their opportunities.

The SCR deprived itself of the reward for the effort made.

Cortina was furious with the gang, the score was 3: 4.

Nick Latta became the match winner with four goals

Apparently, word hadn't got around to the SCR defensive that Latta is definitely a goal threat.

The Schongau native was allowed to add his hits three and four.

Once by flickering, once by long-range shot into the Riesserseer housing, which was orphaned in the final minutes.

The end of an unnecessary, because avoidable, defeat of the SCR.
