Washington and Danny Abdia had hoped for a softer home run after five away games, but Philadelphia and Joel Ambed had other plans as tonight (Sunday through Monday) the Cameroonian led the Sixers to a big 96: 117 over the Wizards.
The Israeli forward did not start in the top five again, although his teammate, Raul Neto, also went into isolation.
Despite this, Abdia went up to the floor during the first quarter and then scored 4 points in a 6:18 run for the Wizards.
Ambide, who tonight also came in and crossed the 7,000-point mark in his career, helped erase Washington’s lead and at the break the Sixers went down by an 8-point lead.
In the third quarter Montreux Harle suffered a second technical foul after a confrontation with Ambide, which also led to his dismissal.
Despite this, Abdia and his teammates managed to reduce the difference a bit, but the loss of a ball by the Israeli in the last quarter led to a three by Seth Kerry that set up an 18-point advantage for Philadelphia, from which the Wizards already had no strength to return.
Spencer Dinwiddie finished as the Wizards' leading scorer with 17 points, Harle added 15, Bartens 14 and Kozma 12. Between Tuesday and Wednesday Abdia Washington in an away game against Miami.
Back in action on Tuesday.
