But in the Israeli basketball world following the death of former coach Yaakov Adler, who died this morning (Monday) at the age of 71 after a struggle with a serious illness.
Adler began his coaching career in 1978 as an assistant coach at Maccabi South Tel Aviv and from there moved to the position of assistant coach at Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he worked together with the late Ralph Klein. 1987/88 Adler coached Elitzur Ramla.

Adler coached Maccabi South and served as assistant and head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv in the 1992/3 season.

Adler, who managed 107 games in the league, moved to the yellow side of the city in 1991 when he served as Zvika Sharaf's assistant coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The two have won two championships together.
In the 1993 season he was appointed head coach of the Yellows, but was replaced later that season by Eli Kenti.
Adler ended his coaching career on the lines of Hapoel Givatayim in the 1993/94 season.
