The train towards the championship round seems to have departed for the Erding Gladiators.
Erding - The Erding Gladiators lose sight of the championship round more and more. Eight points behind are already in eighth place, which is currently occupied by ERSC Amberg, which has also played two games less. The Erdinger actually wanted to make up ground. "We want to win both games against Peißenberg," announced coach Thomas Vogl last week. In the end, only one of six possible counters remained.
On Thursday in Peißenberg the gladiators had to give up the sails with 1: 7, which was clearly too high.
"The game was different from what the result says," said Miners coach Christian Kratzmeir.
"Erding offered us a lot and we used it straight away - that wasn't always the case in the end." As proof, he cited "that we only got a good 20 shots on goal, usually over 30".
His counterpart Vogl agreed with him.
"We didn't play a bad game, but too many individual mistakes were made that were really blatant and always led to goals conceded," he said and added: "I have to pass the buck a bit on to the experienced players, because they made the mistakes this time. And the gladiators trainer hadn't promised too much. Just the surprising comeback of Florian Zimmermann, who scored two goals, and Daniel Krzizok seemed to inspire the team. “We were still training on Saturday, then the two of them gave the green light,” reported the coach. “Finally I had two equally strong ranks available again.” Nevertheless, after the gladiators had led 3-0, 4-1 and 5-3 in the meantime, the game was lost 5-6 after extra time.
“Erding was there right from the start, put a lot of pressure on, and we were still asleep for Christmas,” said Peißenberg's trainer. “But my team showed a reaction.” Finally, in the final third, they managed to equalize “against a Erdinger team that continued to play aggressively and powerfully”. His striker Athanasios Fissekis made the winning goal “nice, but Erding also had good chances”.
Erdings Coach, on the other hand, looked visibly dejected. “If we lead 4-0 or 5-0 after the first third, nobody needs to complain. "As long as eighth place is theoretically possible, we will try everything," said the Gladiators trainer and announced: "After the break, we'll be back to the same team as we were at the beginning of the season."
