Today, the Syrian national weightlifting team achieved various medals in the opening of the Arab Championship for all categories hosted by Iraq.
Our national team player Jaafar Mia won two gold medals in the netter competitions in the junior and youth categories, a silver in the aggregate for the youth category, a bronze in the netter in the men’s category, and bronze in the total for juniors and men.
Youssef Suleiman won four bronze medals in the kidnapping competitions for juniors, men and youth, and the total kidnapping silver for the youth category.
Our team’s delegation includes Al-Miqdad Hassan, 81kg, Ali Al-Helou, 89kg, Ezz El-Din Al-Ghafeer, Kamel Al-Asmar, both weighing 102kg, and Ahmed Al-Ali over 109kg, in addition to our Olympic champion Maan Assaad in his first participation after the Tokyo Olympics.
