A little more than a year after the death of Diego Armando Maradona, his family mourns the younger brother of the football legend.

Buenos Aires - On November 25th last year, the football world mourned the loss of one of the best players of all time, Diego Armando Maradona *.

Only thirteen months after the death of the legendary Argentine, the family was shaken by the next bereavement.

As reported by Italian and Spanish media, Hugo Maradona, the younger brother of the world star, died this Tuesday at the age of 52.

According to the reports, the cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Hugo Maradona was found in his house in Monte di Procida, a municipality in the province of Naples.

Brother Diego died thirteen months ago of a heart attack.

Hugo was also active as a professional footballer and preferred to play in the attacking midfield.

Born in Lanús, the Argentine started his career at home with Argentinos Juniors before moving to his big brother in Naples in 1987 at the age of 18.

First he was loaned to Ascoli Calcio, before he moved to Rayo Vallecano after a year in Spain.

Hugo Maradona: An eventful career on several continents - his coaching career was unsuccessful

After more than 60 games for the Madrid suburbs, he went to Venezuela to Deportivo Italia for half a year before he was transferred to Austria.

For Rapid Vienna, however, he only appeared three times in a half series, it was his last stop in Europe.

A six-month guest appearance at Club Atlético Progreso in Uruguay was also unsuccessful.

His career only got going again after moving to Japan, where he scored a large number of goals for PJM Future, Avispa Fukuoka and Consadole Sapporo.

In 1999 he signed again at home with Club Almirante Brown, one from the capital Buenos Aires, before ending his career.

Unlike his brother, he did not play a single game for the national team, but played for his country's youth team.

After his career, he spent two years with the Puerto Rico Islanders, a former Puerto Rican soccer franchise of the North American Soccer League.

However, it was not enough for a career as a professional trainer.

He coached lower-class teams in Italy, most recently in 2018 he was in charge of Real Parete, a ninth division team from the Naples region.
