"Combining hands with the religious sector": Minister Matan Kahana, visited the Basketball Association | Israel today

The Minister of Religious Affairs, MK Matan Kahana, arrived at the basketball association's offices yesterday (Tuesday), together with Raz Schreiber, director of the synagogue leagues, and met with chairman Amiram Halevi, CEO Yaakov Ben-Shoshan and the professional director of the Israel national teams, Pini Gershon. 

The theme of the meeting was 'The Basketball Association joins hands with the religious sector in Israel'.

The topics that came up and were presented by Dr. Itzik Ben Melech were, among other things, increasing activity in the religious sector, increasing the number of practitioners in the industry, expanding the ranks at all ages.

The union offered an orderly framework for synagogue worshipers, high school yeshiva students, pre-military preparatory students, and the religious and ultra-Orthodox community.

The union offered its support on the professional and organizational side, in establishing bylaws, judges, training instructors and more.

The proposal to turn the Synagogue League into a league that will operate within the basketball association with the aim of increasing its age range, to make it a national league, which will unite the local league champions, including playoffs and the Final Four, was also discussed.
