Sandra Coskun fulfilled a dream.

Neuching - Sandra Coskun, a bodybuilder from Neuching, has done so well in some international competitions in recent months that she has received the coveted "Pro Card" and will be able to compete in the pros next year.

“I'm totally overwhelmed,” says the 23-year-old, smiling all over her face.

"Yes, that was a really successful season." With one exception.

There are several classes in women's bodybuilding, for example bikini (1-3), wellness fitness, figure (1 and 2) and physique.

Coskun has opted for the bikini class (under 1.63 m) - due to her height of 1.59 meters, she is represented in category 1.

Since the 23-year-old was allowed to compete in the juniors and women this year, she was really challenged.

It all started at the international Austrian championships in Wels, where the girl from Neuchâtel came in second in both competitions.

A few weeks later, the 23-year-old went to Belgium.

There was a competition in Mons, the capital of the Walloon province of Hainaut, on the program.

Here, too, she showed a good performance and could look forward to victory in the juniors and third place in the women's competition.

At the World Championships in Santa Susanna, Spain, Coskun experienced how close joy and disappointment lie. The popular holiday destination on the Costa del Maresme is about 50 kilometers northeast of Barcelona. There, Coskun missed the junior women's final in the afternoon. “I have no idea why,” says the 23-year-old thoughtfully. 15 participants were at the start. “It could be that the jurors didn't like my tattoos,” puzzles Coskun. "Or I was simply overlooked for some reason." It was always a mystery.

Eight hours later, the women’s competition was on the agenda, with 24 participants at the start, including almost all of the junior competitors. “I didn't have a lot of hope and strength in the evening,” admits Coskun. “During the long break between the two competitions, I always had to send form updates to my trainer Chris Ziller via cell phone. Then he always decided how much and what I was allowed to eat and drink until the next gig. ”The jurors had been completely replaced after the women's competition, and the rating for the woman from Neuchâtel was different this time. In the women's category, Sandra Coskun was on the podium and was happy about the runner-up in the world championship.

The ambitious newcomer did not let herself be disturbed by the small setback among the juniors.

In the next competition, the international Portuguese championships, which were held in Povoa de Lanhoso near Braga, Coskun won both the junior and the women's competition.

And the reward for this was the so-called “Pro Card” from the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB).

"You have to accept the professional card and we, my trainer and I, have decided that we should accept it."

In terms of her competitive success, the 23-year-old finally went one better: at the international German championships in Wiesloch, Baden-Württemberg, a few kilometers from Heidelberg. Sandra Coskun took first place among the women - there was no junior competition here.

“I am totally happy that my last junior year went so well,” enthuses the Neuchinger, who is already looking ahead. "Now it's time to improve weak points - and then off to the professionals," she says with a laugh, although bodybuilding professionals usually cannot make a living from sport. “The professionals do have prize money, but you don't get rich from it,” says the woman from Neuchingen, who is also not dependent on this prize money because she is employed in a bank in Aschheim in the Munich district. “I work 40 hours a week as normal,” she says. But what she recently met: "I was in the home office a lot, that was very pleasant, especially when preparing for the competitions," says the 23-year-old. She saved the tripwhich is noticeable in terms of time with five training units per week.

The 23-year-old has clear ideas about how things will go on with her now.

"I've already got my nutritionist license and will soon attack the trainer license," says the woman from Neuchingen.

“I would now like to pass on my knowledge to others and help people feel good in their bodies and live healthier.” And as far as 2022 is concerned, she would like to advance her professional career.

"However, I have to be in a thousand percent top form first and perfect my posing again."
