New Auto Jitsu Branch Gets Acceleration in Russia (Reuters)

The world of martial arts is evolving and changing at a rapid pace, and it turns out that in Russia is gaining momentum a new and particularly delusional industry called "auto jitsu".

It's really not clear which's weirder - the fact that someone devised a faint format like jiu jitsu competitions in a car or the fact that his idea caught on - but it seems inevitable to get acquainted with his rules.

So here it is - the two competitors get into the two front seats in the car, fight for one three-minute round, and then swap places for another three-minute round.

If no competitor has yet surrendered, the two move to the back seat for a crucial four-minute round.

If even then there is no surrender from either side, the competitor declared the winner is the one who scored more points, similar to the usual method in jiu jitsu - 4 points for reaching rider mode, 4 points for rear rider mode, 3 points for passing guard and 2 points for placing Knee on the abdomen.

The initiator of the industry, Vic Mihib, is an MMA fighter who holds a black belt in both judo and jiu jitsu, and in addition he is also a doctor of mathematics.

"Last year I had the idea to use vehicles as arenas for battles," explained Meihiv.

"And for the past year, my friends and I have been running small auto jitsu tournaments to explore different aspects of adapting this martial art to such a small space."

Meihiv's YouTube channel dedicated to the industry includes dozens of battle videos that have already garnered millions of views, and more and more people around the world are exposed to the original fighting style, which allows anything inside the car to be used as a weapon - chairs, mirrors, steering wheel and even seat belts. To win here is a creative use of the environment. "

Leonid Gatowski, a fighter and jiu jitsu trainer with a black belt who has experience in the new industry explained: "The fighter who is upstairs has a definite advantage because there are good maintenance spaces like between the seats or under the steering wheel, where those upstairs can push and push. Inside the car there is not much Air, so if you manage to position yourself up and push with your knees it will be difficult for your opponent to let go. "

On the chances of success of auto jitsu, Gatowski said: "Innovation is a good thing, even in traditional sports. If innovation is worth watching and interests viewers, you can work with it."
