An exciting and extraordinary event took place this morning (Wednesday) in the rehabilitation village "Adi Negev - Nahalat Eran", which is run by the "Adi" association that cares for children and adults with complex disabilities.
About 250 people were launched to run a unique marathon that aims to raise awareness of equal rights for people with disabilities, as well as to raise funds for the activities of the village and the association.
Many yeshiva students, preparatory students, schools and volunteers went for a 2.5-mile run around the village area, joined by the professional staff, rehabilitated patients and symbolically also the residents dealing with disabilities.
Among those who donated to the event were also three Ninja Israel participants - Gur Arad, Roni Kaplansky and Philip Anofrav - who came to identify with the association and the population facing disabilities.
Great excitement was recorded among those present.

The three winners ascended the podium one after the other.
The first to cross the finish line and win the gold medal was Ben Reitman, followed by Nathan Azogari who received the silver and the third is Ben Zetman who was honored with a bronze.
All are yeshiva students from the United States who came to Israel as part of their studies.
The whole event was a whole happening that included stalls selling food and drink, as well as decorative and other products.
The uniqueness of this is that all the products, including the food products offered for sale, are all made in the village, made by employees with disabilities employed at the employment center that the association operates, and as part of employment programs that incorporate other activities.
As part of the programs, the workers are employed in a variety of workshops, including art, art and agricultural cultivation.
The purpose of the programs is to train workers with disabilities in preparation for entering the general economy, and to provide them with an opportunity for a productive lifestyle and economic independence.
All proceeds from the sale are dedicated to the continued work of the association and the village for the benefit of this special population.
The rehabilitation village "Adi Negev - Nahalat Eran" is a unique village of its kind in the world, from the network of "Adi" centers which includes another center in Jerusalem.
The village is an integrative community center, which provides a therapeutic, rehabilitative and educational solution for every person with disabilities in a variety of services - from a rehabilitation hospital to housing for the population with a complex developmental mental disability.
The village is a wide clinical field and combines a variety of rehabilitative solutions for children and adults at different levels of functioning (from birth or acquired disability) within the framework of research laboratories operating in the area.
