Four wins, one draw, two defeats and a leading role in an embarrassing association boss - that is the record of the Fursty Razorbacks.

All in all, this means for the TuS-Footballer from Bruck the immediate runner-up after their return to the 2nd Bundesliga.

Fürstenfeldbruck - As early as 2002, the Bruckers had succeeded in crossing the finish line in second place immediately after being promoted to the second highest German division.

The only, but strange, difference: This time there were two years between the championship title in the regional and the runner-up title in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The reason was the pandemic: the 2020 season was completely canceled.

Despite Corona, the Bruckers managed to fly in three US boys at times for this year's season.

One of them can confidently be assigned a term that one has often heard recently during the pandemic: game changer.

Wide receiver Malik Brown was the best kick-returner in the league and thus secured many victories for the Bruckers.

But first of all, the Bruckers had to pay hardship.

At the season opener in Bad Homburg, head coach Lukas Schmid's team lost a 14-point lead in the last quarter.

And on the second match day against the eventual champions Straubing, it was a clear 23:50 defeat.

But then the wild boars got better and better.

Only once again in Kirchdorf should they not leave the field as a winner.

However, the Bruckers only secured the runner-up title after an embarrassing association spearhead. Because actually the Frankfurt Pirates had already been relegated to the last place in the table after various rejections and the game of the Bruckers in Hesse had already been rated. The Razorbacks were second. After an urgent objection from the Hessians, the game was suddenly rescheduled. With a 77-0 win in Frankfurt, the Schmid squad finally eliminated all doubts about the runner-up title. Frankfurt remained last in terms of sport.

There was another runner-up for the young razorbacks.

The U19 even exceeded the results of the seniors: They sensationally became German runner-up - the greatest success in the club's history.

Even the championship in the southern group was a surprise, as the Bruckers prevailed against the Bundesliga youngsters from Schwäbisch Hall.

In the playoffs, the young wild boars even knocked out record champions Düsseldorf.

It was only in the final, the so-called Junior Bowl, that they had to admit defeat to Cologne.
