As a result of the heated discussions after the top Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich (2: 3) at the beginning of December, referee Felix Zwayer will no longer lead BVB games for the time being.
Referee boss Lutz Michael Fröhlich told the football magazine Kicker.
"In my opinion, in such a case or a comparable case, it would not be responsible towards all parties to start the same constellation again immediately," said Fröhlich: "There should be some time left."
The Zwayer debate was triggered by the young Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
The Englishman had verbally attacked the referee, who whistled a controversial penalty for Bayern when the score was 2: 2, and pointed out Zwayer's past.
It was about his involvement in the Hoyzer bribery scandal.
In 2004, according to the files, Zwayer had accepted money as an assistant from the mastermind Robert Hoyzer.
However, he later uncovered the scandal and manipulation was never proven despite the ban.
