The Tölzer Löwen do not manage to fight back against Heilbronn and lose 4: 7.

Bad Tölz - four goals against in the first third, a goalkeeper change at the beginning of the second - something can't be right.

The Tölzer Löwen made scoring goals too easy for Heilbronn, fell back into old behavior patterns with unnecessary penalties, were often a step too late to puck and opponents and lost the last game of the year with 3: 7.

"We were flat," admits coach Kevin Gaudet.

"We had the chance to fight back, but we didn't have the energy."

Energy loss at the end of the year

The tiredness: no wonder - the lions always run up with only two and a half rows, now had to do without Tyler McNeely in the first storm and Dominik Bohac in defense. The defense clearly lacked security. Especially in the majority, the guests were ice cold. The 0: 1 by Julian Lautenschlager after 24 seconds, the lions were able to equalize relatively easily. Philipp Schlager made it 1: 1. But it was also the captain of the Tölzer Löwen who had to sit on the bench for four minutes after the ex-Tölzer Kenney Morrison brought Heilbronn back into the lead. In the majority, every shot was a hit, twice Stefan Della Rovere increased to 4: 1.

An early decision?

Not quite.

The Lions stayed in the game because they, for their part, showed good efficiency in power play.

Birthday boy Cam Spiro reduced the score to 2: 4 when he hit Lubor Dibelka's pass from the left in front of the goal.

And in the middle section the lions even came close to 3: 4.

Markus Eberhardt, who attracted attention through many good offensive actions, but worked a little too little backwards, scored.

But then Josef Hölzl, who came between the posts for the annoyed Jimmy Hertel since the middle third, showed uncertainties.

He let a shot by Justin Kirsch ricochet forward, Judd Blackwater thrashed the margin to make it 5-3.

Exploited every mistake

The lions looked tired, the mistakes piled up.

"Heilbronn took advantage of every one of our mistakes," says Gaudet.

He wanted to change the pace by removing Hertel and give Hölzl the ice age.

“Jimmy knows he has to be better.” Hölzl also received two more hits, at 3: 7 he hardly reacted when Ian Brady lost the disc in Tölzer Powerplay and Blackwater shot him the puck after going it alone between the schooners.

In the end, the lions lacked the strength to approach again.

The Falcons did not allow more than Spiro's second hit.
